Seeing as DC embrace their Multiverse on a level that Marvel have yet to rise too.Do you think marvel should have more Multi-dimensional mash-ups???

I always felt that DC focused more on uber Earth heroes like the ones we know all too well, and great space characters. Marvel focuses on streets and MA's, and then skips up to vast cosmic levels of characters like Thanos and Odin. Just my opinion though.

Phoenix and Thanos are very powerful for instance.

Yeah, the earth based heroes in DC are vastly more powerful than Marvel minus a few exceptions. Look a the main team of JLA heroes: Superman, Green Lantern, Flash, Martian Manhunter, Green Arrow, Batman and Wonder Woman. Now compare it with the Avengers main line up: Thor, Iron Man, Captain America, Vision, Hawkeye, Quick-Silver and Hulk. There's a big power gap minus the heavy hitters and even the counter-part heroes [QuickSilver/Flash, Green Arrow/Hawkeye, Vision/Martian Manhunter] are vastly more powerful. Hell, Batman is the equivalent of two Marvel heroes: Captain America with Iron Man level tech. It's crazy.

What happens on the teams is that the characters who are weaker get amped up and the stronger characters get amped down so that everybody looks useful. Batman on JLA is a differnet beast than when he's fighting Two-Face and Joker. Power Creep, power seep. People like to use JLA Batman in debates though.

Yeah Batman in crossovers has taken down white martians and kicked the spectre lol. Thor in crossovers can't even beat Ultron. He's much stronger in his own comics.

Well it's like how the Flash gets written down tremendously to give his teammates something to do. If he went all out there would be no point for the other heroes because of his broken powerset. That's the way comics work.

Alot of low-ballers like to use cross-over feats as proof lol. Alot of times they'll even use versions from divergent time-lines to lowball.

Or to boos their own character. Secret of all verses debates. Glad I quit. Pretty much. Just glorified fanboy wars really. That's why I don't bother either. I don't mind discussing concepts, but it's like Capcom fans and discussing fighters. It's all about people liking their character more and defending them until the end. I can go to any other fighting game site and talking about fighters and people discuss mechanics. Only when it comes to SF and Marvel do people just get obsessed with characters.

Another mentality I noticed in some real shithole forums is the dislike of obscure characters. I remember people getting mad at a friend of mine for using obscure characters in vs because they're not popular.

I remember people getting mad at a friend of mine for using obscure characters in vs because they're not popular. Or even if the character isn't obscure you simply support what isn't the "fad" at the forum. For instance KMC is Marvel and DC, if you bring up other comics or SF characters, people go out of their way to berate them. You also have others doing all sorts of bandwagon jumping with the latest trend as well.

People always like to criticize jocks and treat nerds as the underdog and nice guy. In reality nerds can be some of the most angry and entitled people around, look at their attitudes when it comes to things like games and comics.

I don't know where to being. The poseurs, the sheer amount of poseurs who bandwagon and pretend they're knowledgeable is absolutely disgusting. The amount of people who have no idea what the fuck they're talking about is staggering. It beggars belief, the internet has made it so easy to be a pseudo-expert it's sickening. But, it's peoples fault for being so arrogant.
Then there's the fact that nothing is happening in the culture. It's pure consumption of finished goods. With the internet we could have so many amateur projects. I've been dreaming of an amateur scene similar to the doujin culture in Japan for a while. With the net we have he possibility of doing it, but nothing is happening. Nobody is really making anything, last big project was homestuck which wasn't bad, but that's it. It's soooooo boring. Vs. is D-e-a-d. We've explained why before. . .Ugh

Follow up rant: Remember Mugen? Remember how much potential it had? I was crazy about it back in high-school. Then people kept making shitty overpowered characters like Omega tom hanks, Killer Whale Or worst SSJ Legend Gogeta. Nobody tried to make well balanced characters and playstyles. Just cool characters and games with 1000+ characters and so forth. No, cooperation and 100% drama. Now Mugen is dead.

Nothing wrong with goofing off with certain characters, but it became a joke.

That's my problem. I think that our nerd industry is great at producing "culture" [comics, video games and movies] for consumption. But, the community that builds itself around. Outside of consuming this culture doesn't really make anything really.

Outside of consuming this culture doesn't really make anything really. It's full of posers who want to "look smart". For instance fighting game players want fighting games to be more profitable and wonder why you can't make real money playing games. However, when a major sponsor shows up to take it to the next level, they complain because they want to be "different and hip". If you want to make real money playing games, you're going to need investors to turn a profit by sponsoring it, or it won't happen. That's why many sponsors are dropping like flies.

The e-sport thing, it's so fucking stupid how players react to this shit. And, it's not like the tourney scene isn't anything but about money and winning in the west. People won't even pick low tier characters because they know thousands of dollars are on the line [Like they do in japan]. But, when sponsors come they refuse the money because they "Don't wanna sell out"?!
This shit is giving me a headache. I think I'm just gonna take it easy. UGh just ugh.

Maybe it's a western culture thing and they see making money as evil and bad. Yet at the same time they complain about not having money and that fighting game players should be paid more. You can't have it both ways is what I always say. You should be glad that sponsors are taking interest if you care about making money. Plus it makes fighting games more accepted also. Which is what you want if you want to rake in the cash. People don't see that.

I rarely see a tournament in the west that doesn't play for money. Yet, they claim they won't play for money and then complain. Jesus christ, these communities are gonna give me an aneurysm.

Not that there's anything wrong with playing for money and having sponsors which many international players do. To me it's just inconsistent to complain both ways.

It's the whole notion that money is bad and evil and not caring about it makes you cool. A lot of these FGC members are kids in their late teens and early twenties, which is why they have the free time to complain about it. It reminds me of when they complain about people playing online killing the "FGC" like you can't do both. Not everyone has time to drive 2 hours several times a week to play a video game. Many fighting game players are kids who live in the basement and have no expenses so it's easy for them.

Man. Me and you have been through hell with communities huh? I mostly observe, but I get equally annoyed with the dumb casual type and the tourney fag type. I'd rather just enjoy a game and get good at it without them dumbing it down.
