Paulina Gretzky, an aspiring model/singer/actress has earned herself quite a fan-base, boasting tens of thousands of social-media followers on her Twitter account. Blessed with great looks and a bank account to match the well tanned and manicured 22 year old daughter of NHL Hall of Famer Wayne Gretzky and Playboy model Janet Jones, has posted some scandalous, racy photos of herself on Twitter.
Among the juicy Twitpics is one of Paulina in a micro minidress-- ready for a night on the town, there’s Paulina sunbathing in a barely there red bikini, one where she suggestively smooches a lollipop and in another Paulina depicts herself reclining on a bed in white lingerie. While, the Twitpics may have excited numerous high school and frat boys across America and Canada, one person who seems none too happy about her Twitter output, is Paulina’s father, Wayne Gretzky.
Last week, Paulina tweeted: “Having a nice sit down dinner with my dad about social media..haha #SIKEEE.”
After which, on Nov. 26, she promptly closed down her Twitter account.
Gretzky the younger then restored her account on Thursday perhaps sensing that this was her "time to shine".
While Wayne Gretzky has yet to publicly speak out about his daughter’s social-media habits it's seems the silence is just feeding the beast that is social media and media in general. It appears the very mystery of Paulina Gretzky’s deleted tweets and the silence regarding them on behalf of the Gretzky's has had the side effect of only increasing the chatter on behalf of the media, providing Paulina with more exposure than it ever did when the pictures were first being posted.
With Paulina's Twitter feed restored, the International Business Times reported that Paulina announced her return to Twitter late Wednesday night with the tweet “Hi everyone I’m back! But shhh don’t tell my dad.” This tweet along with the prior tweet about discussing social media with her dad seem to have been deleted.
This is not the first time children of big celebrities and moguls – like Nicole Richie, Paris Hilton and Brody Jenner to name few – have been the targets for gossip which later resulted in a career of their own. It appears that after all of Paulina Gretzky's initial attempts at becoming famous posting pictures of herself scantily clad seems to have been her ticket!
Last month, before her account was deleted, the frat-boy-skewing site The Chive created an online gallery of her greatest Twitpics under the headline “Paulina Gretzky is using the Twitter Machine properly.”
It remains to be seen whether the public will get to view more of Gretzky in racy photos. But what is sure is that the model-ingenue may have already succeeded in joining the ranks of the famous-for-being-famous, alongside such luminaries as Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian. Despite a short resume of professional achievements, it seems her racy Twitpics have put her on the map.
