Well it is hard to do that for the first movie while also putting together a good story and all the rest of it

Cept the movie could've been done better for story and some of the special effects.

I think it has more to do with making the character more relatable. We don't need to see wacky high end feats like blowing up planets in most cases as it just feels out of place.

Movies based on these things do have a strong tendency to be meh... nothing new there.
