Scenario 1: They both get generic steel Katanas. Use of magic/ninpo is not permitted.

Scenario 2: They use generic steel katanas. They can use all abilities.

Scenario 3: They use whatever inventory they have in the games and go all out.

Who is the winner?

Assuming Joe is roughly on par with the likes of Hotsuma, I'd say he takes it.

I should have made a thread with the various Shinobi. What do you think Musashi offers that Hayabusa doesn't?

I had more specific reasons at one point, but they were from powerscaling from Hotsuma.

I'll go look at the cutscenes/walkthroughs from the PS2 shinobi game again to refresh my memory.

He did have an awesome sword and superior speed. Which game did you think was harder?

I'm not sure he's all that much faster. But he is able to cut tanks in half, whereas ryu couldn't even damage the tank bosses without armor piercing arrows.

Hmmm...I thought they were equally hard for different reasons. Shinobi for no mid-level saves, easy deaths from powerful enemies in groups, and a health draining sword, and Ninja Gaiden for super smart AI.

Shinobi had instant death pits like hell. Even in the old school game.
