I saw that when I was browsing yahoo. Usually these suicides are chick-related... just seem to be that way.

Did you read the article?
Recent findings from head trauma researchers, however, have shown that repeated smaller impacts to the head can result in long-term damage. Several former NFL players have been diagnosed with chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), a disease discovered by Boston University researchers from examining the brains of deceased athletes. Those who suffer from CTE — which currently can be diagnosed only postmortem — can suffer from depression, the loss of impulse control, memory loss and, in late stages, dementia.

Yea. They're speculating he was depressed by repeated hits to the head. It was a similar thing they said with Benoit. Usually when a guy kills himself it is over wife/family/impending divorce (somewhat like Benoit), which is why I said that. Who knows though. Those years can be rough on those in hard sports. The problems can be there and be triggered by something else. This case hasn't been concluded yet.

They are different. I did bodybuilding/sculpting myself and I knew people on it. Roid rage makes people irritable, but not family murderers. They also diagnosed him from having head damage from wrestling. It ended up being an open case. There was also speculation of family problems. My point is a athlete could have head damage OR be on meds/roids, but something usually sets them off to put them over the edge. Men tend to kill themselves over family issues. It COULD also be work related, or career/post career related as well, who knows.

Ah, fair enough. Most of the professional athletes get depressed simply after retiring too. Not being a superstar probably sucks.

Yeah, R.I.P
Seau was a beast and it's sad to see'im go the same way Dave did. I can believe that the head trauma caused in football can lead to mental issues, especially for his position. I don't mean to sound like an asshole for this but if they're gonna do anything about this, I hope it's not changin any of the rules again. They've already watered down the NFL enough for "safety". I hope these guys can find a way to protect the players with better equipment rather than altering the rules anymore than what they've done.
These guys are gettin payed millions, there are risks and there are elements that demand certain abilities. That's why everyone doesn't do it.

I don't like when people water down anything. Football has a period of time where you play. You really shouldn't play beyond that point.
