Oh, I'm sure they believed in God and whatnot. But bear in mind that most Crusaders couldn't read the Bible (the KJV wasn't released until the early 1600s), they were just going off of what the priests told them.

Wylcif's Bible was released in the 1300's, although the church frowned upon that version. But there were translations of passages from much earlier than that.

But I do agree that the Vulgate would have been the correct version that they would have been worshiping at the time and most of the people could not read Latin.
