Countries with a higher rate of welfare and wealth transfers with very lax and rewarding divorce laws will always have this. A welfare state is a single mother state. It is awful.

I don't mind. Being single and living life the way I want is fine too. It's certainly better than being married to some western trick with an entitlement complex.

Absolutely, I value freedom more than anything. Many people get themselves into trouble because they feel they *have* to live with someone. Just do your own thing. You can have fun, sex, or whatever else without living with a woman.

The problem with the welfare state is it is very difficult to unwind. Most 'welfare' programs are ponzi schemes where the people who cashed in at the beginning are dead. It is impossible to make the rest of the people trapped in the scheme whole and so stopping cold turkey has creates huge social problems. Think of telling all the people in the west that so sorry but no old age pension for you. That tale doesn't end well for a lot of people. The same is true for all the government transfers of money from men to women. What is going to happen to the average single mom family if the government gravy train stops. Yes I know that doesn't apply to every retired person, Bill Gates can probably get by without his government check, or every single mom, insert movie star's name here, but for every person that does just fine there are a hundred that won't put food on the table. I tend to think this mess is going to end in hyper-inflation (but I keep a little cash around in case Harry Dent is right).

The problem with these wealth transfers is that they started back when we were ultra wealthy like Rome was, but eventually as it always happens the gravy train runs out as politicians want to get elected time and time again and they promise people something for nothing. Now we're not even getting a lot of our money from taxes, much of it is inflated and borrowed. Forget how the losers feel, how about the people paying for it? I don't think the average citizen cares and it's scary. When this comes crashing down it's going to hurt everyone around it. It'll be impossible to cut everything at once politically but we have to start somewhere.

Another problem is that people in these countries have the mentality of 5 year olds. Things like personal responsibility or self-control are alien concepts to them. It's also why they're so obnoxious and I can't stand being around them [I'm ranting here lol].

There are some great black voices in the wilderness, Thomas Sowell and Walter E. Williams for example. I would especially recommend listening to and reading Williams as he makes it clear that the sense of entitlement in the black community is a recent phenomenon. Before Johnston's Great Society it really didn't exist, Johnston created this dependence by destroying black families with welfare. Someone else who speaks out but doesn't get the credit that Sowell and Williams do is Bill Cosby. I'm not really sure that Cosby understands the causes of the problems. The reality is there aren't a lot of people of any color that are looking for less government. Too many people have a vested interest in the status quo and many of those people are bleeding more from the system than your average black guy.

The broader problem, the vilification of success. I don't have any answers for that. I know it comes from the same poisonous plant as political correctness but i don't have any idea how to change it. There is so much corruption now that I'm not even sure it is entirely unjustified. There are a lot of rent seekers out there who got rich though connections and fraud, it is easy to see how people could just assume that all success comes that way.

I don't know if you have heard of the free state project, it might be of interest to you. I'm not an American so it doesn't work for me but it could be a place in the US that you could find like minded people. If you do believe we are headed for a hard crash, I think the entire western world is headed for hyperinflation, then may be better to be somewhere where you are part of the population than somewhere where you are an outsider.

Walter Williams has been on Schiff numerous times. He talks about how when he was a kid there was hardly any black unemployment and now due to minimum wage there is a lot of it. Lyndon Johnson was a racist and a lot of these "friendly welfare guys" are just socialists who are padding their nest. FDR used Social Security on purpose because he knew that people would be dependent on it and it would ensure elections. They came up with a strict term limit because of him.

Vilification of success is definitely part of our culture, but it's also human nature to resent your betters in anything, the problem is this culture encourages it and rewards it with theft. This will always lead to a doomed society.

I have heard of that project, there have been many groups who plan to live "off the grid" so to speak if they don't leave entirely. Definitely an alternative.
