I think this video pretty much ends the debate. Though, fanboys will always exist.

The video has some flaws and Screw Attack is not always consistent. However, they did a good job with this imo.

Blaze72 put that up some time ago and I had meant to as well and I was going to ask you about what you thought on it.

They are right in this instance, people think DBZ characters are the absolute strongest because they "destroy planets", when in reality many superheroes such as the Flash are just outright broken if written to full potential.

Well that's most debates. "I like this character more, therefore they win."

I think people in general think that DBZ has the most powerful characters because they blow the whole "destroying the planet" thing out of proportion.

Yea, they are overall except in extreme cases. Although I find many people get their perceptions of DBZ from the anime and not the manga.

The anime makes the look more powerful than they really are. So, fanboys always try to grab feats from the anime. Funny enough, this video uses post crisis supes. Once in a while DBZ fans will try to concede that Goku loses to pre-crisis supes. Thinking they stand a chance against post-crisis. They have no idea how close Post Crisis comes to pre-crisis at times.

True. Not to mention SSJ4 isn't even canon. The anime has a lot of filler and incorrect information. People should also consider that when they make these arguments.

Like, I never heard of Torquasm Rao though I do know about Torquasm Vo. Also, the bit about Blue suns making him stronger is cool. All in all, the screw attack team gave Goku alot of credit and made him lose to Sun-Dipped Superman. Goku has like 4 transformation and Superman just one lol. But, yeah. Clark destroys him.

Well like they said, DB is about a character overcoming his limits. Superman wasn't really about that too much. Personally I found DB much better BEFORE they were stupidly strong because it was more creatively written.

Yeah, most super heroes are already at their strongest. They don't really get stronger outside of the occasional God mode. If anything, they worry more about getting de-powered than transcending their limits.

They go through power creep periods of "upgrades" but usually not through hell training.

I think db has a system that makes it incompatible with comics. I'm of course talking about power scaling. Where all base stats are gonna go up because the characters get stronger. So, what db fans do is use scaling as a multiplier. So, if character x is 10 times stronger than the heroes were last arc. Then it means he's 10 times everything and can blow up a planet 10 times larger. All sorts of non sense.

I don't think it's even done on a completely linear or exponential scale. Not to mention the author got rid of that numerical system because it made no sense. Also in DBZ world a power level 20% higher means a curbstomp match, so the scales aren't *as* big as people make them seem.

Let me clarify. People are saying for example since frieza survived a planetary explosion albeit half dead. But, was killed by trunks sword. Then it means that Trunks sword has more power than a planetary explosion and since goku could block that same sword with one finger than his one finger is more powerful than a planetary explosion.

Which is garbage because it ignores tons of factors like the kind of damage the sword did. Piercing damage, blunt damage, and exploding damage aren't the same.

Not only that most of the danger wasn't the explosion but having to drift in space (which is fatal to Goku). That's awful logic no matter how you slice it.

Which is silly. Hell I didn't even get into things like Vegeta getting his arm broken by Android 18 who was weaker than Goku who needed to go SSJ to fight with 40 tons of weight on his body.

Like all DBZ movies it tends to be hectic paced unlike the series where because they go by episodes they can afford to make one tough villain that keeps getting stronger.

With that said, the Dragonball cosmology has gotten bigger now.
