No, it's been a while. Back in the day I went to Nathans when it had that huge arcade.

Arcades were big in the west, but now you have to live in a highly populated city to see much of them. That said I can't say that I don't enjoy having a gaming pc and laptop that allows me to do what I want where I want.

Well, they've gone quiet in the west. But, go to the mall, Boardwalk, or Movie Theater and they're there. But, I think it's much more convenient for people to use their smart phones and even consoles. Arcades are no longer convenient and they don't have the advantages they used to have: Used to be more powerful than consoles. Ironically, I saw alot of smartphone games in the form of Arcade cabs. It was weird.

Yea. In places like Japan you have a densely populated area with lots of youth and many arcades right around the corner, so it is popular there.

In the US you have a much larger land mass that isn't as densely populated and for most people it makes no sense to drive 20 or 30 miles to play games in a relatively empty arcade when you have a powerful computer at home, not to mention mobile devices. This is what many FGC tournament players don't understand it seems. In some areas like SoCal it is easier to have a scene, but if your game has terrific online people don't feel the need to go out and even have online tournaments. I know Blazblue has great netcode and some criticized it for hurting the tournament scene. I think the ability to play online and off is great.

Haha, sure. It might be a while though. I remember playing a lot of SF1 as a kid though with my brother at the arcade.
