Yea, people sometimes don't respond well to new characters. If a time jump is done well they can definitely work, as long as it doesn't feel too contrived. Even MK isn't dumb enough not to have Scorpion and Sub Zero. Remember when MK3 had no Scorpion?

As long as the mechanics are sound. I think Cassie Cage looks cool for what it's worth and I like how you choose different styles which greatly affect your play. They're being a lot more creative than SF IMO.

The styles remind me of ISMs of Alpha 3. Very creative direction, imo.

Alpha 3 was a great game in many ways despite so many people giving it a hard time (Alpha 2 players). I liked a lot of things about it.

"In a recent interview with The Kombat Tether at Gamescom, NetherRealm Studios' Ed Boon discussed the upcoming next-gen fighter, Mortal Kombat X. The MK creator touched on a variety of different subjects such as the game's netcode, the MKX roster, and even dropped a couple of cryptic hints at past features/characters we may see make a return.

We have heard previously that a certain "-ality" -- other than the Fatality, of course -- would make an appearance in Mortal Kombat X. Since Brutalities were originally intended to return in MK9, but did not make the cut due to time constraints, Boon was asked if we could expect to see them featured in the 10th installment of the Mortal Kombat series. His response leads us to believe that Brutalities may be back.

Even if Brutalities aren't the classic finishing move that Boon is hinting at, fans will be glad to hear that the returning "-ality" reveal is expected to drop in the coming months, according to the NRS representative.

Those who played Mortal Kombat 9 extensively probably know that the online experience wasn't the best around, as it was known to lag often and disconnect often.

When asked if the netcode has been overhauled and optimized since Mortal Kombat 9, Boon replied, "absolutely." He goes on to explain that one of the problems with the previous game's online came in the form of the message delivered to the player.

"Sometimes the game would get disconnected or the opponent dropped out and then we just said 'session lost', the most generic thing,' Boon said. "Now we are a lot more informative about the status of things and we are matching people up better with their connections."

Lastly, many fans have expressed concern with Cassie Cage's inclusion on the MKX roster, fearing that her appearance is a surefire sign that Sonya Blade and Johnny Cage (Cassie's parents) would not be playable in the upcoming fighter.

Boon was quick to put those fears to rest, stating that just because her daughter will be included on the roster, does not in fact mean that Sonya is sitting this battle out.

"It never ceases to amaze me with the speculation that goes on. We love our fans and stuff like that and it's great that they're so into it but it just blows my mind when somebody hears 'Cassie Cage is in the game...' and then they assume that means 'well, Sonya is not in the game!' and I don't know where they draw that conclusion and then they go 'Well if Sonya is not in the game that means Cassie is going to be a version of Sonya and she's gonna be skinned'. It's amazing but my advice would be don't speculate on that kind of stuff. *laughs*""

I have never seen a character who couldn't be selected after DLC ever, I'm sure you'll be able to use him later.

But c'mon... don't cut characters out of a fighting game, that just stinks. For a brief period of time, now there's gonna be people who have access to Goro and enjoy him while others are excluded from the experience.

Usually you have to beat the game to get him, that said DLC does that anyways.
