Guy looks like he's been through some shit. 4 years old and told he's going to hell, smh. Well what I found interesting was the parallel between the centralized authorities and what we're told to believe. People who say they aren't religious still often believe in big government or something similar. One form of "religion" isn't any different than another even if they cover it up with the state and force.

I think the biggest problem is that:
1. People's consent isn't given priority when it comes to religion. Especially children, it's forced on them. 2. People's self interest aren't acknowledge. Why should anyone join your religion? Often times it comes down to people believing it's the Truth and therefore you should join. Or whatever shaming garbage.
It's like government, people just expect you to believe in big government or shove it down your throat.

Also, do you agree with him? That there are good religious people or is it all bad in your opinion?

Sorry I meant to get back to this. I had been on the road and I hadn't seen this thread in a while.
I have no problem with people who choose to be religious. I don't agree with it but as long as they don't force it on me with no proof I don't mind. Many have just been brainwashed with it and don't even realize it and they just shout the mumbo jumbo.
These losers should take care of their lives first before worrying about others.

I don't mind other people being religious either, though I am indifferent towards the whole concept.

That's the problem I have with people and ideas like that. The people who talk about helping and caring the most are the ones who are barely helping themselves. If people led by example and pushed themselves to the highest level we wouldn't have this issue. I always see people who are broke saying they don't care about money giving theirs away and then they need a handout. People should focus more on themselves. Then they wouldn't be occupied with this silliness.

Another problem I have is the way people help. Outside of scams like faith healinf, alot of times it's just congregations filled with desperate people who want to hear things to make then feel better. I hate that, people aren't actually doing anything with it. They claim to help people, but are they really? Even missionaries who go to poor countries to give people food and aid. What have they really accomplished? Those countries they go to will still be poor and sick because they're run by third world government.
Nothing really changes and I find that religion is always okay with the status quo. As long as they provide these little aid. They're doing great. Religion is more of symptom releif than a cure.

Exactly outside of brainwashing people like it because they sell fear or some sort of comfort. Much like government. What they get out of it is self-fulfillment. They can say they're "caring" (that word again), even if what they did had no lasting effect. They get their ego-trip. People should ask why these countries are poor and why ours is declining. Freedom raises the living standards of everyone far more but people ignore it. This is why "caring" is irrelevant and results matter.

I don't hate Christian people, or Muslim, Buddhism, or Hinduism etc... No, I don't hate them. but I hate stupid people. Of course I know how it feels to be a religious, I was once, and it feels good, it feels I'm not alone. But I have too many questions. in the end, no, I don't hate any religion as long as they don't force it on me.

Yea it's the morons. I guess the lesson here is that groupthink is bad and people use "religion" as a tool to get what they want.
I think answers are best conquered by people trying to solve questions and learn vs practicing willful ignorance by saying some other entity has them.
