From what I understand it's supposed to be a more accessible melty blood or something similar. I hear some people say it isn't "too anime". I have heard complaints about the balance however, so I'd love someone to go into detail about that.

Well as you know the FGC have several definitions for "anime" games.

1.) Games that have anime looking characters, usually with schoolgirls and such also (Persona 4 Arena).

2.) Games based off of anime, (DBZ, Naruto).

3.) Games that are faster paced with mechanics like air dashing, (Guilty Gear, Blazblue).

The thing is, SF Alpha has an anime look, and Marvel has air dashing and a ton of fast stuff. So there is an argument over which FG's are actually "anime".

I'd say it definitely has some "anime" influence. Some are saying it doesn't play completely like one though.

I can't remember honestly. People bring up how "anime" Marvel is, but I guess it doesn't matter since it's Marvel. You know how hypocritical the FGC can be.
