Now the desktop computer at my house has stopped working. I turn it on, and when it starts loading the OS, it goes into a blue screeen. The blue screen says:
It tells me to disable this stuff, but how can I do that when it goes to this screen automatically. My mom was saying that the anti-virus was acting up, and then it went to a black screen. She said she then turned it off.
Does anyone know what I should do? I looked around the internet and couldn't find anything. Would I need to get a new hard drive or something?

Ok Gary, I assume that you have a working computer, as you posted this on the net. If not try and do these steps on a friends computer, if at all possible. Go to this site- www.nu2.nu/pebuilder/ Download Bart's PE Builder and run it to create a bootable CD. Start up the bad computer with this cd. Open a command prompt window, and enter- CHKDSK C: /R Try that and see if it fixes the problem. That site has a lot about stop messages- www.aumha.org/win5/kbestop.htmGood Luck.

Thanks so much. Its running on the computer right now. It is at a part where it says it is 2% complete, but it seems like it is going a percent per minute, so I will give a status update later when it is done.

It worked! I'm posting from the once bad computer. My parents were about to take it in to Bestbuy or someplace to get it fixed. I just knew they didn't need to. Saved them a lot of money.

I know! What I don't understand is how 30 gb suddenly disappeared from both my laptop, and our desktop. I just happened to look at my hard drive, and it 30 gigs suddenly filled up. I don't even do anything on my computer! Same thing with the desktop.

I found out the problem. I went to Computer Management, then I selected Disk Management from there. I right clicked on my hard drive, and selected extend volume. Now I have 30 more gigs of space now. Now its time to test it out on the XP desktop.
