Some people love toys so much they're willing to pay 4 figures for one that has two guns instead of one: www.eventhubs.com/news/2014/dec/01/dual-wielding-samus-aran-amiibo-sold-us2500-ebay/"How much would you pay for a factory-sealed defect Samus Aran Amiibo figure, if it came with two cannon arms instead of one as per usual?
As the owner of the dual-wielding Samus Aran Amiibo found out after a week-long Ebay auction, apparently some collectors are willing to shell out as much as four figures.
The auction, which saw a total of 75 bids from 19 bidders, eventually ended at a closing price of $2,500 earlier today. Click images for larger versions
Speaking with GameSpot, the owner of the Amiibo figure said that he was "very happy with how it turned out." "I was considering hanging on to it to sell at a later date if the value did increase. However, with the high level of interest shown at the time when I posted it, I thought I'd go ahead and sell it now in case the value went down or a whole tub of them was discovered at a later date," he added.
It's been about a week since the owner of the dual-wielding Samus Aran Amiibo first shared a picture of his prized possession on Reddit.
Since then, nobody else has come forth to claim that they, too, own a similarly-defected Samus Amiibo with the same two cannon arms defect, prompting collectors to believe that this may indeed be a one-of-a-kind misprint. That might have been one of the reasons the Amiibo was able to fetch a high price.
Question from the editor: If you were able to find a dual-wielding Samus Aran Amiibo, what would you do? Keep it in your collection? Put it up for auction? Or? "
