I saw that article. How do you feel about SF4 overall?
Its honestly been awhile since I've played SF4, maybe considering on returning to USFIV (depending if I can be able to rebuy due to problems with My PS3 or have to get it fixed) along with playing it on EVO.

The only thing I can do if I dislike censorship like this, I'm boycotting SFV for this. Unless there is anyway shape or form that will make them reverse their decision and prevent them from repeating stuff like this.

Here is some information from Eventhubs: Capcom showed a preview of their Street Fighter 5 instructional DVD today, which will be packaged with various special editions of the game in Japan.
One of the best aspects of the short clip is we get to see direct capture footage of the Metro City stage (although this could be New York, depending on how Capcom goes about it), featuring Alex in the background.
There's also a quick segment with a bit more F.A.N.G footage. The whole clip is only two minutes long, so it goes by quickly, but it's still cool to see.

That's what you should do. I've seen people in other places saying that not buying something won't make a difference and that you should buy it to make a change because otherwise the SJW's would win. I think this rationale is terrible putting it mildly.

Hey The Big Daddy C-Master if I'm remembering correctly you can't get a refund for SFV right? In a few months, probably at least half a year after release (want to see who quick they release characters and if they are going to release a version with all characters.) I'll buy a used version and we can fight online? Really want to have a few matches against you but SFV is the only cross play fighting game... That's why we can't fight at launch because I'm not giving Capcom my money. Sure. I'll be glad to play you. That or you can get on PC, lol. Not sure if you can get a disc though. Lol.

Here comes an onslaught of Eventhubs information along with reddit:
The new 'Indestructible' is coming to Street Fighter 5 - Man with a Mission tapped for official title track
Capcom will feature Man with a Mission's song Survivor as the title track for Street Fighter 5.
Man with a Mission is a Japanese rock band, that has dance pop flavors thrown in. Their newest album, The World's On Fire, will contain the currently unreleased track, Survivor.
This all may ring a bell, as Exile's The Next Door (Indestructible) was the featured track for Street Fighter 4, and most of the community's reaction to the song was not exactly favorable.
Although there is no sample currently available for Survivor, we did include the intros for Street Fighter 4, Street Fighter X Tekken and Tatusnoko vs. Capcom so you can relive the past.
We've also included one of Man with a Mission's songs so you can get an idea of what the band sounds like.
SFxT's song was Honest Eyes by the band Black Tide, and TvC's intro vocals were recorded by Asami Abe.

'Norcal has the strongest Street Fighter 5 scene on the planet' - Gootecks and Mike Ross talk SF5, make predictions for the scene in 2016
The Street Fighter community stares blankly at their calendars as the days seem to eek by on the march towards February 16th, Street Fighter 5's release date.
As we prepare for the upcoming chapter, Gootecks and Mike Ross continue their "Wise Words" series with part two of their predictions for Street Fighter 5 in 2016.
Gootecks explains why he feels the Northern California scene is the current best in the world. This is over Japan, Europe and every other scene that has produced an EVO champion.
The duo also talk about what it takes to be a top name in the community, noting that it's not always the players who best perform at the game, but rather those who best present themselves.
Do yourself a favor and check out this insightful commentary after the jump below.
Just as a heads up, Gootecks uses quite a few crass words in this video.
Do you agree with Gootecks' assessment on the SF5 scene?

Tokido played video games for 8 hours everyday, while getting into Todai University
Source: www.asahi.com/articles/ASHDT65D6HDTUEHF00T.html
Background: Todai, a.k.a The University of Tokyo is widely considered to be the most prestigious university in Japan.
Translation:
Games are studying's natural enemy. Todai graduate pro-gamer Tokido (age 30) overthrew this way of thinking. "Even before the entrance exams, I played games for 8 hours", Tokido says. He also goes on to say "Rather, the only reason why I got into Todai is because I played games."
I got into games during my elementary school years. I was bullied a lot back then, so I played games all the time at my house. Even though I played a lot of games, as long as my grades were good, my parents wouldn't complain. From then on, I was able to advance into a middle/high school.
During my middle/high school years, I was pretty much immersed into the arcade world. At that time I was pretty dominant, but around my high school years I started entering tournaments and I turned into a tournament player that earned a good amount of prize money. When I entered my 3rd year of high school, I started thinking about entrance exams, and I chose to aim for Todai University because I had an inferiority complex about games. I didn't want to be told by others that I couldn't get into Todai because I played video games all the time.
Efficiency is important for both exams and video games
As a Todai graduate pro-gamer, I'm often asked the following:
"You were able to get into Todai while playing games all the time?"
"You were able to get into Todai because you played games all the time?"
And my answer would be the latter, "...because I played games all the time."
During my middle school years I started entering fighting game tournaments. For fighting games, a very popular one was "Street Fighter II" and it would be a 1v1 game where you control certain characters and battle it out. Of course, I would always choose the strongest character. I kept practicing until I could maximize certain strengths of a character and perform it well, and I would also thoroughly engrave the movements and move-sets on my mind. I would research my opponent's bad habits. I would throw in feints and provoke opponents to attack; strategy is also important.
Entrance exams are also about efficiency. I only applied to Todai University, and nowhere else. I was not accepted during my first try, having to wait 1 year before re-taking the exam. During that time and during the time I was enrolled, Todai was my one and only battle. On a serious topic, to get into Todai, you have to think of a completely thorough strategy. Panicking and trying a bunch of new things is meaningless. If you have the time to think of a backup plan when you fail the exams, you should be spending that amount of time and dedication towards a strategy to get accepted. You will have a much higher chance of getting in that way.
When I look back at it, my studying strategy is influenced heavily by how I think when I play games. Entrance exams are like games in the sense that it has a "win pattern". I don't think I necessarily agree with the idea that, "If all you do is play video games, you'll turn into an idiot." If you devote 100% of your effort into something, there is always something you will learn from it. For me, that was simply video games.
You can't win with just logic
Being a pro gamer for 4 years now, I'm able to earn enough to have food on my plate. My income mainly comes from worldwide tournaments almost once a month. I also get income from sponsorships. Advice for game development or event performances also contribute to the income. These three things are the main pillars.
Right before the tournaments, I would usually play games for about 8 - 10 hours. In order to win tournaments, concentration and stamina is important, so I would often work out at the gym and I would rarely drink alcohol. I chose to drop bad habits that I didn't really need during gaming. With winning above all else, I've been known to perform some boring plays (to spectators) and I've also been given nicknames such as the "IQ Player" and "Ice Age (Cold-hearted)".
But recently, my playstyle has changed. I found out that in the end, logic cannot win against passion.
In the (fighting) game world, there are always balance changes and the ways to play characters also change. If someone like me with a boring playstyle is able to overwhelmingly take over the tournament scene, fans and other players will lose interest, so of course more balance changes would be expected. I think that a true fighting game genius would look at the new balance changes, and create a unique playstyle based on it. Instead of simply picking the strongest character, incorporate a playstyle that focuses on how you could beat the strongest character, with a myriad of "tools" available during a match. Players who watch the game will be more interested that way because a weaker character is beating a stronger character.
When it comes to studying or games, I never really ask myself "Why?" When I set a goal for myself, I will choose the most efficient way to proceed. This is repeated over and over. That's it. I don't really think about why I chose that goal. As a result, I think that is why my playstyle doesn't have a lot of depth. It doesn't take me long to become a strong player, but in a flash my playstyle can be imitated. This led me to believe that if I kept playing like this, I won't be able to survive as a top player. In the end, logic can't win against passion.
Passion is what's really important
When I became a pro gamer, it wasn't really out of logic but more so the passion from wanting to be a pro gamer. During my time at Todai, I was an Engineering student who did Biomaterial research and worked on building artificial human bones and organs. Utilizing my way of thinking, I was immersed into the research. It was really fun. I felt that I was directly contributing to society as I built stuff. At that time, I devoted everything to research, to the point of staying away from games. I even wrote a research thesis that granted me a nationwide award.
However, I spent so much of my devotion to my research that I hardly studied for my graduate exams. As a result, my exam scores were not high enough to get me into the research department of my choice. When I joined some other research department instead, I quickly turned into "extra baggage", not being able to contribute much. Without doing much now day-to-day, I pondered about what I should do with my life. I then found out that a weaker fighting game player than me turned into a pro gamer. At that time, pro gamers were just starting to bloom. I thought that was "unforgivable". As I struggled and struggled thinking about what I should do, I took one big step in a completely different route to be a worldwide pro-gamer.
To all entrance exam takers, exam techniques are important, but the future that awaits is more important. Please have passion when you proceed into a university.

Momochi and Poognko officially invited to this year's Red Bull Kumite
The Red Bull Kumite was an amazing event last year filled with lots of exciting action. This year the invitational is back, and we're slowly but surely discovering who will be part of the line up.
Just under two weeks ago we got wind of the first two competitors, EG|Justin Wong and AVM|Gamerbee. Today Redbull revealed two more of the fighters in the 16 man bracket.
Red Bull Kumite takes place April 23rd-34th in Paris, France. With these four in the mix, things are already looking to be incredibly competitive. Who else do you think should be in the event?

Combofiend: Chun-Li has a kick for every situation in Street Fighter 5 - goal with Necalli was to create antithesis of Ryu
Peter "Combofiend" Rosas had a sit down with the crew at Heavy.com to discuss all of the launch characters in Street Fighter 5.
Covering Chun-Li, Rosas said that she has always been a master of kicks, which is something they wanted to really bring about with the fighter.
As such, they gave her more kicks in this version than she had in previous entries.
"Once players get a chance to play as Chun-Li, they’ll see that she now has a kick for every situation," said Rosas.
Ryu's tattered look, powerful moves that are a tad slower
The goal with Ryu was to make it appear as if he's been through a few fights over the years, so Capcom gave his clothing a tattered look to it.
They also wanted his moves to feel powerful, which is why they're a tad slower than in previous games.
F.A.N.G the undertaker
F.A.N.G's looks were actually modeled after something that can strike fear, or just an general uneasiness into some people — an undertaker.
"As F.A.N.G revels in the misery of his opponent, we tried to create a look that conveyed that type of character," said Rosas.
Since this fighter has a fascination with the number two, Capcom tried to give him attacks that hit two times, and also perform two actions.
"It was time for a new villain," noted Rosas. "Everyone knows Balrog, Vega, M. Bison and Sagat and their taste for cruelty, so how interesting would it be to introduce someone who was equally (if not more) sinister?"
Necalli is the antithesis to Ryu
If some of Necalli's mannerisms and approaches remind you of someone, but in the opposite way — that's by design.
"The goal with Necalli was to create a visceral character that was the antithesis to Ryu," explained Rosas.
Combofiend went on to add that Necalli is an ancient warrior, and comes from a time when fighters were more vicious.
"As such, we made sure that his move set reflects the brutality of this different era," Rosas said.

I thought Akuma/gouki was the antithesis to ryu. Funny thing is that Akuma actually uses the tru form of the shotokan style. Gouken just created a toned down style of it down so it wouldn't kill anyone but could be used for self defense.

Ken is his rival and Akuma is like a darker rival or something. A Darth Vader of sorts. My guess is Evil Ryu could likely have part in the story seeing by that trailer and his win pose. Evil Ryu is also very popular especially after the Daigo/Sako hype.

Sony to Host Street Fighter V Event at this Year’s Taipei Game Show
Those who’ve been following Street Fighter V’s development may recall that the game appeared at the Taipei Game Show last year. There, Taiwan’s AVM|Gamerbee took on MCZ|Daigo Umehara for an early exhibition in the alpha build of the game. Information recently surfaced confirming that Sony will once again have Capcom’s upcoming fighter on their stage at this year’s Taipei Game Show.
The game will take the stage on January 30 from 1:00 PM to 2:45 PM local time. In addition to Capcom’s own Yoshinori Ono and Tomoaki Ayano, the stage show will feature sets between well-known players from the region, though the players chosen to participate have yet to be announced.
For more details on this and other Street Fighter V related news, stay locked on to Shoryuken.com. Street Fighter V launches on February 16 for PlayStation 4 and PC.

'I got hands-on time with [Street Fighter 5] Balrog back in December' - Capcom UK mentions first playable version of DLC character
By now, it's no secret that Balrog -- Street Fighter's popular pugilist -- will be among the first six DLC characters to grace Street Fighter 5. Though we know the identities of these fighters, we haven't seen much beyond the original silhouettes that Capcom showed off late last year.
Last we heard, the DLC fighters were still in the conceptual stage, but it seems as though there might be more to these characters than we know.
During last week's WSO session in London, community manager at Capcom UK Matt Edwards provided commentary while competitors went head-to-head in Street Fighter 5. What's very interesting is the fact that Edwards mentions playing Street Fighter 5's Balrog during his visit to the US back in December.
"I actually got to go hands-on with Balrog when I was in the US for Capcom Cup," Edwards said. "I'm not allowed to say anything about him, but I'm very happy with what I saw."
This new information is leading many to believe that Balrog might actually be the first DLC character we see released in Street Fighter 5. Considering the fact that there was a playable version of the boxer readily available for Edwards to try out a month ago, that is actually quite plausible.
Earlier this month, we took a shot at guessing what Balrog might play like in Street Fighter 5.

Bafael is back with his bread and butter series for three more of Street Fighter 5's starting line up characters. Today we bring you the basics for Necalli, R. Mika and M. Bison.
In these tutorials Bafael does the dirty work for us by figuring out each character's strongest anti-airs, go to combos, Crush Counter punishes and any other useful tidbits of information.
Here's an example from the M. Bison video, as he can get this stylish combo after hitting his standing roundhouse, which is safe on block.

Redwolfx performs ridiculous 75 hit combo with Chun-Li in Street Fighter 5, shows big damage setups for playable cast
You may have heard that Street Fighter 5 doesn't offer much in the way of combos, but Redwolfxx's latest video should put that statement to rest for good.
Kicking off with a 75 hit combo monster from Chun-Li, and running through the entire playable cast for the 3rd beta, this video will leave you smiling and satisfied (The Office).
Redwolfx says these are max damage, max hit combos, and a number of them use the crush counter system. Here's one of the setups, you can check out the entire clip below.

Here is few more information from Eventhubs:
Capcom: If you have the right timing you should be able to beat powerful jump-in attacks in Street Fighter 5 with any character
Taking to the skies in Street Fighter 5 against top level competition is generally going to prove difficult against all of the cast, at least if Capcom has their way.
SF5's battle planner, Woshige, recently explained how powerful jump-in attacks will work in Street Fighter 5, and even though they'll be great at landing hits, most of them have a fundamental weakness as well.
"Moves that are good as a jump-in generally increase your hurtbox as well — before the hitbox expands. If you just have the right timing against an anti-air, you should be able to beat it with any character," explained Woshige.
While anti-airing in Street Fighter is a very core part of the gameplay, it sounds like SF5's developers are trying to give every character a viable way of defeating jump-in attacks — which hasn't always been the case.
Putrid or amazing attacks for anti airing are often how some characters are balanced in the series — but the fact the developers are trying to give everyone solid options in SF5 is interesting, as it means an even heavier focus on footsie based play.
A crew member at 4Gamer said they had a lot of trouble with anti airs in the beta, and Woshige said it's going to come down to practice.
"You're going to have to play the game quite a bit before you find this 'depth'," he noted.
Limiting newly released characters at tournaments
4Gamer also expressed concern about DLC fighters being released right before a big tournament.
Street Fighter 5's producer, Koichi Sugiyama, said this is an issue on Capcom's radar too.
"There was some disorder in SF4 when Decapre was released, and that wasn't much fun. But, this is a difficult issue," he said.
"You could have rules at the tournaments deciding what characters are allowed, or something like that. We'd have to work together with the tournament organizers and staff, and I'd be happy if some sort of co-operation like that were possible," noted Sugiyama.

Hopefully that is the case. With new games people tend to jump a lot. The jumping tends to get crazy later.

Here is some information from hadoken.net & shoryuken:
Exclusive Interview with Producer Yoshinori Ono Reveals First Street Fighter V Story Mode Details
We had the great fortune and chance to interview the producer of he highly anticipated Street Fighter V, Yoshinori Ono, and we made sure to ask him all kinds of question about the the upcoming game including the highly classified Story Mode. Below is the full interview:
Hadoken.net: Street Fighter IV was the second coming of the franchise. With that game you were able to bring old and new fans to Street Fighter. What is your goal with Street Fighter V ?
Yoshinori Ono: The SFIV series has already been around for seven years, over which it’s remained “alive” through several iterative upgrades. Even within the Street Fighter series, SFIV stands out as a title that has been great for building community, having generated a wide audience as well as quite a few “pro” players.
On the other hand, after seven years of using SFIV as our premier fighting game, you inevitably end up with enough high-level players who raise the overall level of play, and it becomes quite difficult for newcomers to approach the game now.
Given this situation, we approached the development of SFV with the keyword “reset” in mind. We tried to recreate everything from the ground up, even going so far as to “reset” characters returning from past installments, fine-tuning them to further bring out their originality, with the aim of having returning players say, “Wow, this is new! Guess I’ll be starting over from scratch with SFV!”
At the same time, we’re also hoping this “reset” will bring casual SF players back to the fighting stage. By highlighting the characters’ originality as well as the fact that this game is a “reset,” we hope to see even more players come to try out this next generation of Street Fighter than we saw with SFIV.
Hadoken.net: Let’s talk a bit about how Street Fighter V came to be. Can you give us a quick rundown on when and how development of Street Fighter V kickstarted?
Yoshinori Ono: It was shortly after we finished development of Super SFIVAE 2012 that planning for SFV began. If you look back at my interview archives from back then, you’ll note that I remarked quite a few times that I wanted that to be our last update to the IV series. Clearly, I had SFV planning on the mind. ::laughs::
Of course, in actuality, Ultra ended up being the final iteration of IV. So while we were moving forward with the development of Ultra, we were simultaneously holding discussions to figure out where exactly Street Fighter V would land and what it would look like. By Arcade Edition, the SFIV series’ community had come to resemble what it is today, and we’d started to run our own tournament series, but there was a sentiment that we wanted to get even more people into this game and taking part in the Capcom Pro Tour. And that’s where the “reset” theme came in, accompanied by the tenet of “originality.”
Hadoken.net: You guys have officially announced the full roster as well as the first 6 DLC characters coming in 2016. Can you tell us a bit about the process of selecting which character gets a dlc spot?
Yoshinori Ono: Keeping in line with the “reset” theme we held so firmly during development, we approached our launch roster selection from a wide variety of angles; what characters should return, what new characters would best express the direction we were going with the battle design, what characters were popular, what characters would get the FGC hyped, and so forth.
With regards to the six add-on characters coming out in 2016, basically, after we finished development of the current launch content, the development team and management took a look at the battle design and narrative backdrop of SFV and hashed out what kinds of characters and skills would best fit in.
Hadoken.net: Capcom has also announced that any game updates will be free and will not require the purchase of a second disc. Does that mean we can expect a free Super Street Fighter V update down the line?
Yoshinori Ono: Our policy moving forward will be not to release an incremental lineup under the “Super” label. That sort of titling convention for different version upgrades and editions is probably meant to make players cognizant of when those additions were released, but our stance in terms of the business and development of SFV is to be ever expanding upon the core product and offer game updates for free.
Hadoken.net: By the end of its run Street Fighter 4 had 44 characters. Will street fighter V ever reach this huge number of fighters ?
Yoshinori Ono:The 44 characters of USFIV are certainly more than bottom-tier players like myself can keep straight ::laughs::. That’s a lot of tactics to learn! With Street Fighter V, our key word is “reset.” Hence, at release, we’ll be keeping it to a roster of 16 that people can get a grasp of without feeling overwhelmed. After that, as we’ve already announced, we’ll be putting out six additional characters within 2016. The following year and beyond, we’d like to keep offering new characters and content to keep the game feeling fresh and exciting. But as for an exact number of characters that SFV will reach, that’s still to be determined.
Hadoken.net: Recent fighting games have offered extensive story modes (like Mortal Kombat X and Guilty Gear Xrd) What can you tell us about the story mode of Street Fighter V ?
Yoshinori Ono: The team is aware of the high demand for a story mode. With SFV, at launch, we’ll be offering a prologue which introduces players to the characters and the world of Street Fighter V. As for the type of large-scale narrative everyone is hoping for, we’ll have more details to announce in the very near future, so please stay tuned.
Hadoken.net: The Street Fighter 4 series offered pretty cool anime prologues and endings by famous anime studios, could we expect the same for SF5
Yoshinori Ono: With Street Fighter V, we’ll be focusing more on the fighting game side of things and we have a different art style this time around, so we hope you like what we have for players with this new iteration of Street Fighter.
Hadoken.net: Speaking of Anime, are there any chances of a new Street Fighter anime series or anime movie that will accompany the release of the game? We did not have an anime series since the 90’s
Yoshinori Ono: Mm, indeed. There hasn’t been anything since the feature-length film in…’94? ’95? In fact, that’s partly why we created a bonus anime feature for SFIV/Super SFIV. As for a new anime series, there’s nothing to announce right now but that doesn’t mean we won’t see something new in the future.

Dantarion Develops Real-Time Hitbox Display for Street Fighter V
In his quest to create an unbeatable Street Fighter V bot, Dantarion has developed an important tool that displays hitboxes on top of the game. This serves as a continuation of his boxdox project, but takes a step forward by providing real-time information alongside the overlay he discusses in a previous video.
watissf.dantarion.com/sf5/boxdox/#null
While this will go a long way towards making his GiefBot a force to be reckoned with, it should also serve as a useful training tool for those looking to dive into the nitty gritty of Street Fighter V’s various mechanics and systems. As you likely saw in the video above, it needs a bit of work, but a hypothetical public release could serve as worthy successor to previous projects like Frame Trapped. frametrapped.com/

Crazy they've been working on it so long. I knew they'd be planning on it, but hopefully the work has paid off.

Here is what I've posted about Story Mode in Eventhubs: The only type of Story Mode I can think for something like this depending on what they plan on doing for a prologue that introduces players to the characters which would be similar to Story Modes (like Guilty Gear, some of the Naruto games, Inuyasha fighting games, Rave Master etc.) where each character goes through their own Story Mode with pre-set battles example like in Ryu's would fight Ken, Nash, Necalli, & Bison for certain Story reason or if they want to use MK format (which I would dislike) which might wind up being to similar to DOA5 Story Mode where each chapter certain characters move plot while other chapters is pretty much its own Story like it doesn't have anything to do with main characters.
