Don't worry man, this nonsense is gonna end. The only reason the FGC has been so silly is because it's relied on hardcore gatherings filled with socially awkward people. Once PC gets better netcodes and we start moving to PC. We won't need EVO anymore for comp. We'll just play online and while the scene might be smaller. It will be less stupid.

Lol at the socially awkward part. I'm looking at these Smash player interviews and they all look autistic and many are depressed. People make this huge deal about showing up to these events where most don't make any money and those who win... don't make any money.
PC online is already great and overall better than the console. Skullgirls, Kof, SF, GGPO all run well. That said I'll be glad when the internet becomes so good that I can have perfect matches even on the road. That will get rid of this cultish nonsense and moron gathering. I know some of the "hardcores" don't like that idea because I guess that it's their life driving an hour there and back just to play a game for 2 hours downtown with other "hardcores". Some said that too good of internet will "kill the scene". I mean how dumb is that? It simply allows more to get into it.
Like my friend and I were talking about early this week, just because you go doesn't mean you're the best. Tournaments have a lot of luck factor and many super good people just don't go. I mean Daigo, Sako, MadKof or whomever are good mind you, but there are many people just as good or better who won't go because they just don't care and want to have fun, *or* there just isn't enough money to justify the time and expense for travel and everything else. It's not like LOL where the pay is millions.
You have two clashing crowds, the old guard who like the games to be deep and the pseudo intellectual casual guard who want them to be more accessible and hate the old stuff without knowing why. They love the "it's popular so it must be good" argument.

Seriously, how is a state of affairs where you need to travel across the country to play a game for 2 hours a good thing? Most of these gatherings are dysfunctional anyway, filled with borderline autistic manchildren. So, it's not like the gatherings are fun. But, even if you enjoy them. Why should technology have to stagnate just to accommodate to morons who want hundreds of dollars including room and board to play a video game with other autistic f**ks?
So, glad fighting games are moving to PC. This nonsense is over.

Why should technology have to stagnate just to accommodate to morons who want hundreds of dollars including room and board to play a video game with other autistic f**ks? So, glad fighting games are moving to PC. This nonsense is over. Yep, looking at that video I posted last week shows that. These people go crazy over winning 100 dollars at an event they had to practice a game nonstop for months to even win. You could have done that at a crappy job FFS. Many of these people thinking they're going to be the next Daigo not realizing tournaments have a lot of luck involved, a lot of counterpicking, and a lot of pool setups to keep the good players from being eliminated too early. The games that have smaller scenes also have less money. I don't want to go across town to downtown Atlanta to play these games, why would I want to go across the country? No thanks. I'd rather do something more significant with my time. Even on games where I was one of the best players (or the best) I never took it that seriously. I guess I can understand why gaming has such a negative connotation sometimes. These people were whining that Blazblue had too good of netcode which took away from the tournament scene. It didn't take away from it, it just gave more options. People who want to meet up in their little club can do it. I've heard horror stories with people splitting those rooms too from other tournament players.
