Is he bitter, or does he have a point? What are your thoughts? www.orochinagi.com/2015/01/emperor-cow-meets-tomonobu-itagakiSome choice words: "Everybody is a little perverted; even I’m a little perverted. But, it was for that very reason I created DOAX [Dead or Alive Xtreme]; in order to target the people who wanted something a little bit more casual and sexy but at the same time keeping that tone separate from the 'fighting game' that is DOA. DOA is now a total mess.
It is almost impossible to attract new players with the way the game plays now. Look back at the older DOAs. When a new comer tries out the game for the first time, his first instinct is to just press the buttons randomly.
But, those button presses usually lead to some very visually pleasing moves and even at some points lead to that beginner’s first victory. When a new player experiences this, in his mind he would think, “Hey, I think I can play this game” and would start to play it more and maybe even attract more players to play it.
When you compare this to the state DOA5 is in, a new comer has virtually no chance at all. The technical gap is so huge to the point that the game will feel too awkward and this new comer will never be able to play effectively or ever get a win. A game like that would never sell.
This is why they thought they can overcome this by making the game more erotic and milk you loyal players all out of your money with erotic DLC. It’s disgusting."

Itagaki is crazy, lol. DOA 3 is considered the best DOA competitively and Ninja Gaiden Black is the best Ninja Gaiden. Team Ninja inthe original X-box was absolutely amazing. All under his watch, but DOA 4 was trash and so was Ninja Gaiden 2...all under his watch.
Doa 5 is a huge improvement over 4 and I think Ninja Gaiden 4 might be better.

I think he's bitter at this point. From what I hear people hated Ninja Gaiden 3 and DoA 4, but they love the fighting system of 5 because they feel it's the best overall. I thought people liked 2. You think 4 is better than 5 or 5 is better than 4? Your last sentence got me lol.

No nono lol. 5 is waaay better than 4. 4 was awful and Ninja Gaiden 2 was crap. Yeah, I think he is bitter. He left Team Ninja under suspect conditions.

You mean the one with Rachel right? Ninja Gaiden 3 was considered awful but they fixed it up a bit later (that was the one where you could use Kasumi).

No, 2 was this one:
It was just broken. OT made the focus on delimbing your opponent since OT = instant kill [They tried to make it lik eGod of War] The enemies became artificially difficult to compensate for regenerating health by having retard damage output.

I hate fake difficulty. Just a lazy way to make a game hard. Borderlands 2 had the same problem. "Let's just make every enemy klll you in two hits and we'll use health scaling to make it seem like you have a chance while quadrupling the health." Games should do their own thing, not be like another series. Remember old school Ninja Gaiden fake difficulty? Enemies respawning all of the time knocking you off cliffs?

There were enemies that could kill you with one grab and off-screen incendiary shurikens. It was crazy.

In the first game, higher difficulty mean't new eney types and later enmies appearing earlier in game and in boss fights. 2 just said F it and went full retard.

Just add more enemies and more elites. That's what Duke Nukem does on higher difficulties. Higher damage breaks the suspension of disbelief. You're a tough character/fully leveled up and then you die in one or two hits? That's just dumb.

Two hits? I wish, it was like one grab is 90% health from a regular fiend.

Two hits? I wish, it was like one grab is 90% health from a regular fiend. That's how it is. The first hit does 90% and the rest finished you off, Borderlands 2 style. They had health gating to help hide the bs but it didn't matter.
