Okay so in class we had to come up with 3 designs for money currency. I choose my cat, dragon, and the seasons. I drew them all out and she saw them. She didn't say anything to me about anything except that I needed choose my colors for when I develop it on the computer. Then later tonight she messages me saying,
"what I wanted was for you to develop an overall concept/idea that can work for three versions.
Also, since this is a more challenging project, your ideas should be more thought out and well-researched. I think you could explore some ideas that are not cat related.
If you aspire to be a designer and want to work on projects that might go into a portfolio, you then want to explore many different options. I think your ideas tonight didn't go out of your comfort zone."
I don't have a comfort zone and they were well thought out. I'm at a blank here. I can take criticism every well but when she said it wasn't well though out it kinda hurt a little bit. I can come up with ideas like that and people love them. That's me doing it fast. this one I took my time with. I'm at a lost for words

I was always "meh" with art school because the teachers just grade on their own criteria and personal preferences. It's like they just give a good grade to those they like. I could draw and design better than the teachers yet they were grading me, heh. Do you have any examples of this for us to see? They are not as goodly drawn but i put alot of thought in them We no get to see? I understand it's for a quick project but I was wondering what she meant. |
