Does anybody remember this game? I sure do. www.eventhubs.com/news/2015/mar/02/clayfighter-coming-back-2016-hd-remaster-will-add-air-dashes-double-jumps-and-much-more/It was announced this weekend that Interplay and Drip Drop Games will be resurrecting the ClayFighter franchise next year.
ClayFighter will see a HD remaster that will borrow the best content from all of the previous games. The press release states that the roster will include familiar faces such as Bad Mr. Frosty, Blue Suede Goo, Earthworm Jim, Hoppy, Boogerman, Tiny, and the total playable character amount will come in at over 20 fighters. Additionally, 20 classic stages are set to return.
Things get even more interesting, though, as the new title is also receiving new game mechanics such as air dashing, double jumps, reversals, and counters. Each character will also come equipped with their own super moves and Claytalities.
"ClayFighter HD" will come with completely remastered audio and hi-res visuals. The game is getting a PC release sometime in 2016.

Well, if they play their cards right I think so. Not too many like in the 90's, but a small fighting game revival would be nice.

I mean't boom, my bad. This second boom SF bombed. Well quality wise yes. Financially wise, no. And that's what they care about.

ClayFighter Now Up for Grabs as Interplay Sells the Majority of Its Intellectual Property Checkbooks out, fighting game developers: one of the 90s most infamous fighting game franchises is now on the market. As part of a massive selling of intellectual property and video game assets, Interplay is now offering rights to many of its franchises and characters to the highest bidder. This includes characters like Earthworm Jim, games like Sacrifice, Battlechess, Dark Alliance and the most important one, ClayFighter. globenewswire.com/news-release/2016/09/07/870242/10165014/en/Interplay-Announces-Sale-of-Significant-IP-Portfolio-Wedbush-Securities-as-Strategic-Advisor.htmlThere was an planned remake of ClayFighter which was supposed to hit stores this year from Interplay, but with this mass IP sale happening, this remake has most likely been canned. So, if any potential developers out there want to remake ClayFighter for a new generation–adding in online play, new clay based characters, and actually balancing the game so that one character’s low forward can no longer outrange the rest of the cast, combo into itself, and cause stun–now is your chance! www.pcgamer.com/interplay-announces-remastered-clayfighter-coming-in-2016/Source: shoryuken

I wonder how it would be with a Killer Instinct style overhaul.
