Shows how "cool and nice" nerds are: www.paradiger.com/mortal-kombat-xs-producer-shaun-himmerick-quits-twitter-because-of-threats-against-family/Mortal Kombat X’s executive producer Shaun Himmerick gets asked a lot about the upcoming Mortal Kombat X. Each day Himmerick answers questions from fans regarding the fighting title but it would seem that Himmerick is quitting his Twitter because of threats of violence, threats of sexual violence and more.
Already the producer changed his twitter handle to “Come on People” but now he released a series of new tweets, stating he doesn’t want to do this Twitter anymore:
So to be clear. The reason I don't want to do this twitter anymore is not fans asking for characters or hints or whatever. I get that ->
"— come on people (@lover_of_tacos) March 27, 2015 That is passion and love for the Mortal Kombat and I also have that. So I get it. No problem. I'm glad people care about their favorites ->
— come on people (@lover_of_tacos) March 27, 2015 I used to be thick skinned enough for the random personal attacks. I'm a big boy I can handle it. I've been in my share of fights. ->
— come on people (@lover_of_tacos) March 27, 2015 However I cannot deal with the threats of violence to my wife and now young daughter. threats of sexual violence are even more disturbing ->
— come on people (@lover_of_tacos) March 27, 2015 You wanna fight me for Any reason. I'm probably willing to go, verbally or physically. I can hold my own. But threats on my ladies? No
— come on people (@lover_of_tacos) March 27, 2015"
I totally agree with the producer on this one. This is getting way out of hand and although most of the threats people make on the web are empty, it’s just something that crosses the edge. Please respect others and always remember that no matter how much you love a particular game or series, the makers of it are mere humans as well – just like you.

Probably trolls, tbh. I don't get why people take Twitter so seriously.

More to the point. This thing about nerds being misunderstood good guys is advertising. Nerds are bitter, socially awkward, and most often dysfunctional people. They aren't fun to be around by any stretch of the imagination.

They aren't fun to be around by any stretch of the imagination. Well it's this whole idea that "bad is good". Being poor, ugly, dumb, or socially awkward makes you a good person. If you are attractive, successful, or something else that makes you a bad person. It's this immature black/white thinking people have. Kind of like children see good and bad.
