One thing is for sure if another democrat wins this country is forfeit. Plenty of people feal the same way about a Republican becoming President. Why do you personally feel that way? At this time, if the primary were tomorrow, I would not be supporting Rand Paul.

Because I'm a libertarian and I for the most part agree with Rand Paul on most issues., furthermore the candidate I would want [Ron Paul] has joined the Republican party. I don't think I've ever agree'd with dems on any issue minus when Obama caught bin laden.

Both sides Republican and Democrat are bad. They're both big spenders, they both like debt and printing money. They both like entitlement programs and buying votes. Rand Paul is libertarian, but he's not as libertarian as his father. This makes him more palatable to the mainstream. He's definitely WAAAAAAY better than Romney or Bush. Obama is just horrible. I like freedom and individual liberty and Rand is the closest to it. Ron Paul and Gary Johnson didn't get the large vote percentage. That said there is a movement for libertarian thoughts amongst some youth. Even if Rand Paul ran and won, we'd still have tough times. All of this debt over the years will take its toll and the solution is going to hurt. People won't like higher interest rates or not getting their handout but we can't afford it. I think it would make the country better in the long run but if we get another Bush or Obama then yea it's just looking bleak. I'm not sure if him getting in would convince me to stay longer though. Perhaps. www.yahoo.com/politics/rand-paul-wants-to-capture-the-youth-vote-and-115789423306.html?soc_src=mail&soc_trk=maApparently Rand Paul is the "Obama" of 2016 *shudders*.

Interesting.
I don't necessarily agree that Rand Paul is the best choice.
I am just tired of settling for the least horrible option, rather than the best possible candidate.
I suppose my opinion might change when we start to learn more about his flat tax proposal. But as it stands now, I don't support a few of his stances.

I'll have to see everyone before I can say who is the best. I've heard quite a lot from him and he sounds a lot better than the usual like Hillary. I want taxes to be lowered period. It's hard for good candidates to win when people want the government to take care of them. Ron couldn't win because people wanted Obama. What stances bother you? He seems to want a 17% tax universally for business and otherwise, so I'm guessing he wants to lower government spending by a lot.

I think everyone feels that way. Taxes continually go up, and we receive less and less in return. Are you saying that he didn't win his party's nomination, either time, because the Republicans wanted Obama to be President?

Are you saying that he didn't win his party's nomination, either time, because the Republicans wanted Obama to be President? I think a lot of people want their own taxes lowered, but many want someone else to pay the taxes. What I mean is that nobody wants to give anything up. Everyone wants to keep their goodies but not pay for them. The truth is China and other countries are paying for them and we do through inflation. Not to mention the people who don't work at all, they have no need to care about taxes. I mean the majority wanted a candidate like Obama. They don't want someone like Ron, at least they didn't then. We get these politicians because they're popular to the masses because they offer an "easy" solution to life's problems. There's no easy way through life, you have to earn what you want.
