Yep, they all have the same arguments time and time again. It's like they don't even try. I'm getting really tired of the "power fantasy" argument whenever someone brings up the fact that men look exaggerated too. Just double standards on top of double standards. Men who are pro fighters don't look like pro body builders anyways. They're in solid shape, but they have fat on them too.

I am still trying to make sense of some of these players.
What do they want?
Another thing is that women looking hot in fighting games (or in any other video game for that matter) is not a new concept. It's a cool one but not necessarily new. This is not the early 90's anymore, hence why people should not be making a big deal about this now.
I am a huge fan lovely and particularly strong female characters, especially as far as fighting games are concerned (a point made relatively clear in my banner).
Do these players actually wish to have women in the game look exceedingly ugly somehow?
Let's see. The developers... designers... and the people who are generally in charge of the games production would theoretically try to showcase evidence that their game is good.
The game would consist of violence, like MKX for example. There are a lot of creative ways of killing a character in the most gruesome way possible. Yes. People will believe this is a nice game play element.
It is. As far as moderation is concerned. But, as soon as a female character starts showcasing so much as a side-boob... or if they even touch the spotlight, people suddenly start losing their minds. Keep in mind that the majority of these said individuals are actually MALE players. Insult to injury, the sexuality of a character is relatively tame!
That's even if you are playing DOA5LR. Many female characters within a game such as that look gorgeous and they would wear all of those outfits... many are risque. But, it will never really be quite enough to pass for anything completely tasteless. But, for some odd reason, these players are actually INSULTED by hot females in fighting games.
Realism?
No. That can't be. Because, 99.9% of the fighting games we play are actually based on a fictional setting (thank goodness). So if a player is looking for "realism", they should probably go play UFC or something (which usually turn out to be really sorry video games while also not even being that realistic in themselves). So no. Realism shouldn't really be used as an argument. Definitely not in a game like MKX. If it is okay to go for the more over-the-top methodology for fighting and killing a opponent, it should be okay for female characters to showcase how gorgeous they look. And, it's not like people are asking for soft-core pornography either nor is that what the game developers intend. It's nothing more than a cosmetic that which is available for player viewing, which shouldn't really be that big of a deal.
Hell, about 40%~45% of the reason I play fighting games in the first place is because of sexy female characters.
You have to love how people blow things out of porportion over subjects like these (see Eventscrubs for example. Your head may end up hurting in the process). I don't necessarily hold anything against purposely ugly female characters (i.e. Painwheel or Peacock from Skullgirls for example) because, some of them may not have been meant to be sexualized in the first place. But, should a female character be sexualized in some way... I don't think there is any logic in making deal out of it as long as it is tasteful. As a male game player myself, I would welcome sexy female characters with OPEN ARMS. If I had to choose between a game that consists of a bunch of knuckle heads (like UFC) for example vs a game such as Tekken which has a very diverse group of character, plus some sexualized characters... Uh... I would pick Tekken. That is a no-brainer.
But, seriously... what in the hell do these types of players want? What exactly is so "bad" about female characters looking pretty as they kick ass? Keep in mind that these types of female characters are relatively diverse as well (compare Shermie to Elisabeth Blantorche from the KOF series).

People in fiction are better looking on average in general to make them more appealing and sell more to the audiences of both genders.  Even in the 90's women in comics and movies were attractive.  People want something they can enjoy looking at and it's wish fulfillment when they imagine themselves as a thing of beauty or a "badass" character (like Wolverine).

Why are artists targeted towards women so attractive?  Women are buying the albums and aren't thinking about sleeping with these girls.  It's because they want to be beautiful like Beyonce, Taylor Swift, or Christina Aguilera (in their prime).

Nobody comments about males walking around shirtless other than to say that it's a "power fantasy", then you have buff men in romance novels so even that's bs (as I pointed out to a member who posted here using that logic).

Bathing suits aren't a big deal.  Based on that logic people are having sex every time they go to the beach which is just nonsense.'

Violence being good and sex being bad is also annoying.

Even if someone made a porn game that's their business, just like when people make games like Hatred.  But yes this is fiction, just like Twilight and Magic Mike and Romance Novels are fiction.  You don't see men going around saying those should be more realistic.  Why aren't musicians like Usher bald, fat, middle aged guys?

Most of these people don't play the games.

Men see women and value them for their attractiveness.  Women who are ugly don't like this and want to draw attention away from attractive women, even in fiction. They really are that sad.

They wish they could be sex objects because women want to be desired.
