"When a new game releases, we here at Shoryuken like to gather up content and highlight what the community has found early on as a way to gauge how competition might shape up as it the title matures. Combos, frame traps, character strategy–you name it, and a player has likely released a video of their findings.
Ultra Street Fighter IV, however, is different, but not in the way you’d expect. Sure, some form of the game has existed for close to seven years now, but the recent PlayStation 4 port features a bevy of fantastic additions that are sure to put a smile on your face. And, no, I don’t mean new unblockable setups.
See, this version of Street Fighter IV was handled almost entirely by Other Ocean Interactive, a third-party studio who is perhaps best known within our little scene as the studio who released Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection, which shipped with a variety of problems that had to be fixed by post-launch patching. As we reported earlier today, numerous community members took issue with Ultra Street Fighter IV on PlayStation 4 almost immediately, lambasting the title’s menu slowdown, random stuttering, and general input lag.
Those are annoying problems, no doubt, but one thing these quick impressions missed out on were all the hilarious glitches found as the day wore on. Sure, the argument could be made that some of these bugs have the possibility of negatively affecting competition, but with the launch this game has seen, all you can do at this point is sit back and laugh.
So, to bring some more joy to your Tuesday evening, here’s our Ultra Street Fighter IV on PlayStation 4 glitch roundup.
First up, we have a handful of sound glitches courtesy of stovenven. Their recorded footage raises some questions regarding the cast’s animal costumes; it appears as if whenever a fighter dons this wild attire, something screwy happens to the stage’s native sound effects. As you’ll see (hear?) in the videos below, Dudley now has the ability to steal car noises and dinosaur screeches, and Seth can even channel his inner howler monkey.
Oh, and the announcers also seems to forget his lines at times, though he may just harbor some sort of grudge against Rolento."
CEO and evo usf4 are gonna be very interesting to watch if they still have it on ps4 and they cant fix all the bugs in time. Capcom said ps4 usf4 was the "definitive edition" but we will see how long that statement holds up.
