SMGDH. Square Enix released a feedback video dubbed "Active Report" where they went over feedback from a survey included with the purchase Final Fantasy Type 0 and played the demo contained within it: Final Fantasy XV. The survey was only available to people who played the game. In the video Director Hajime Tabata and Marketing Manager Akio Ofuji tabulate the responses that people around the world submitted in the FINAL FANTASY XV –EPISODE DUSCAE- Survey. In the video they sum up the top 15 complaints about the demo and gameplay as stated by the players. Now, it makes sense that gaming journalist would cover this. Since FFXV is a hotly anticipated game and Active Report gives us insight to it's progress. What does NOT make sense is the criticism they choose to focus on:

The "Cidney is too sexy" and "We want female party members" crap was a region specific complaint specific to Europe. It wasn't even ranked. Good old, Europe. Still a leftist hell-hole.

I try to keep my stuff neutral or ask a question, but sometimes I see stuff so stupid that I point it out in a thread title. No racebaiting or any silliness like that. The director took his time in addressing this stupid question too. By pointing out that he never intended for her to be Sexy. She's just an energetic and upbeat girl. People see sex everywhere, just typical puritan nonsense.

This is why I dislike western games and prefer Japanese games. Imo, Global media would be much better if Japan was the dominate force in pop-culture. Then we wouldn't have to deal with this crap. I thought before he defended it saying "We wanted her to be this way". Hopefully the Japanese don't bow down to this too. These idiots only care about realism when it comes to women hotter than they. They gave mixed messages, on one hand they won't change her basic design. However, they also won't put her in compromising situations [That was never their intentions anyway.] It was a very minor point in the list of criticisms and was specific to one region [Europe]. The top 15 concerns that cover all three major regions [North America, Japan, EU] were all gameplay related. The NPC score very favorably. The gaming media didn't even bother with this, they just jumped right into their narrative. Regardless of how inconsequential of a role it played in the actual criticism. |
