It's today, from June 11 - 21. 10 days, not bad huh.
So, what are you getting? I'll grab Valkyria Chronicles and maybe some good titles that I'm interested in. Let me know yours.

Okay, that gives me a second thought. I haven't touched the last 5 games I bought on steam, not even the cards, Maybe I should stop buying games for a while. on the other hand, Steam is rejecting my bank so maybe that's one way to stop.

I mean for me I might pick up something here or there but I don't need anything. You know how those Steam backlogs get, heh.

I get a group of a series I like or something similar. You just end up with a game library so large you can never play them. I hardly game nowadays as it is. Some people play a lot of games at once and I tend to focus on a few at a time. I like to mix variety/style though. There are some newer titles I tried out and thought might be interesting based on what I heard, but it's just more modernized stuff that's "meh" to me.

What were some of those " modernized stuff" that you were disappointed with?

What were some of those " modernized stuff" that you were disappointed with? I mean they're ok games, I just feel they have too much hype. I made a thread on this about a month or two ago in regards to mainstream games being basically movies with button presses. Instead of you doing much of the action, the game does the actions for you. While you just watch a movie. This is popular nowadays along with "pretty graphics" and I don't mind those things but I' more of a gameplay person.

Couldn't resist. I grabbed the Valkyria Chronicles after my last try. but that's probably the my last purchase this summer sale.
I'm into that kind of game too, like classic titles. They are just too hard but when you beat the game, it feels rewarding. unlike these modernized games, more like interactive movies. but movie + gameplay. like portal for example, I just wish the puzzles were more harder. community made puzzles make that up though.

Monster Hunter is popular and has some challenge. I haven't seen the other game though. And yes modern games are a far step from what they were.

The only reason i said "buying a heap of games when you'll proably play 2 out of those 10" is because i know people who buy heaps in these digital game sales What were some of those " modernized stuff" that you were disappointed with? I can see what your trying to get at but they're not all like that, The main culprit is that Quantic Dream that makes games like that.

Yes, they're definitely people who buy lots of games they won't play, but the prices are like 10 games for $10 I can't blame them.
No, not all. There's Dark Souls, but most modern games have been modernized and dumbed down for modern audiences. No doubt about it.

I just can't do that buying heaps of games at once 2 or 3 is enough for me at a time
Huh ?...what does modernized and dumbed down for modern audiences have to do with games being movies where you just press buttons, your confusing me.

I buy what I like and genres I like, but I don't play enough to go through all of them, they didn't cost much so it's no big for me. If I were using disk space I'd be annoyed though.
I thought I answered this, but I guess I must not have submitted the post.
They're a bit of both. Modern games focus a lot on taking many skill and challenge elements out of the game to avoid frustrating players. So what you often end up with is less interaction and immersion from the player, and more from visuals/cinematics. People love that design.
