Haha good sheet.
I think part of it is because of the bad design from some developers. Mortal Kombat for instance. The other reason is what we were saying; they want to make women uglier to avoid scrutiny and to become popular with the "mainstream". That said I don't think it's generally true. Games still need to sell and they use attractive characters. Skullgirls is mostly fanservice for instance. I have to look at Killer Instinct again but I don't recall the females there looking bad. You also have Moxxi and Lilith from Borderlands as well.
One of those weird things where there's so much to choose from it becomes hard to think of one directly.

Well, MK characters have always been poorly designed and the character designs often change. MKX isn't even the ugliest iteration for example: Yeah, it varies. Before gamergate this wasn't an issue. Every once in a while controversy flares up and developers try to hang low. Japanese never care tho.

They looked better in 2d when they were done by live actors. MK3 Sonya was done by a Playboy Model.
They need to stop using the man face.

I really wish the American developers would stop this trend... I will elaborate a little bit later but I need to help someone with KOF.

What?....Elizabeth from Bioshock Infinite is good looking as for those 2 Borderlands 2 character's i'm pretty sure that's how they wanted those two to look. I think characters in games, movies, and comics tend to look better than average, but I will say there is a trend to make women look much uglier as of late in the west. It's just wrong.

Okay. Where was I? Oh yes. American game designers for female characters... need to stop making female characters intentionally ugly unless they are going for a particular approach (see Painwheel for example in SG. There is a actual reason behind why she looks the way she does but it sure as hell isn't meant for appealing to anyone in particular, that is, if the individual understand the story behind it). Number one, if there is absolutely no real point or justification in the female looking ugly, the developer may as well go ham on the sexuality on the character or at least make the character look appealing in some manner. Number two, the American developers need to be a little more like the Japanese when it comes developing female characters. Stop listening to idiot news reporters, video game scrubs and feminists.
This is also part of the reason I play certain female characters in fighting games in the first place (Mai Shiranui or Elisabeth on XIII for example) That's... 30% of the reason. The other 30% is because I usually like the character. The last 40% is for competitive reasons. The first 30% in particular is to piss certain people off (including the players sitting beside me, should they despise this sort of approach in fighting games). Should a female character be present in the game... then they need to look appealing at the very least. Because, that's considered an ideal approach. This rule applies to both genders. If this isn't the case for the said characters than they better have something else going for them... because looking ugly... just to look ugly is not going to win me over. At all.

Yes there's definitely a difference between a purposefully ugly/grotesque looking character who looks that way on purpose vs a character who were once attractive or are the main cast being made more ugly to appeal to the fems who don't even play these games. Them attacking is good publicity and leads to more sells. You couldn't pay for that kind of advertising, it's a win/win.

Right, but the statements were kind of opposite. Are you saying that women in western games haven't become less attractive in many instances? I know some games state they want to make their women look more masculine.

Apparently, liking a female character because she's attractive is a crime. So, if I pick Samus because I find her Zero Suit to be hot, I'm a demon or something. It's freaking crazy/
