The Evolution Championship Series has grown by leaps and bounds virtually every year in the recent era of fighting games.
While we've been more than happy with the continual rise in both attendance and viewership, the amazing numbers put up for EVO 2015 are simply awe-inspiring. Twitch's Director of Content Marketing, Mr. Ben Goldhaber, has released the incredible numbers for this year's live stream viewership.
The tournament played out over the course of three days, and across several streams, and the total number of views for the weekend amounted to no less than 18,854,340. This was nearly a 113% increase from the previous year.
EVO 2015 boasted 3,888,620 unique viewers, which was a 66.7% increase from 2014. The FGC should certainly feel encouraged as the train continues to gather momentum at a nearly-alarming rate. This begs the question, what will EVO 2016 have in store?
