For the sake of argument, should we just say that they are the same size?

For the sake of argument, should we just say that they are the same size? no because that be giving the shark an advantage when on average the shark is two feet smaller or more

I'm talking weight. This would be more fair if they are the same weight,

The Croc is longer, but I hope you don't mean more massive, there's a big difference on average.

Seals can dodge shark ambushes, so a croc should be able to as well.

First off a bull shark has managed to to pierce the hide of a Hippo which Hippos are more durable than Croc's.
So to say a Great White with greater biting ability and razor sharp teeth can not cut straight through a Croc is wrong.
Next the Croc is only longer but bigger implies it is in fact heavier which it isn't so the actual power advantage goes to the Shark.
Next the Shark is faster underwater and unlike a number of animals the Croc tries to death roll a Great White can thrash with great force because large number of muscles are used in this section to allow it to tear into a victim. So to say the Croc actually holds it in its grip is also going to be quite hard for the Croc and in fact the shark's thrashing could snap the neck of the Croc.
Next this also comes down to weapons the Croc is going to be hard pressed to get a large hold on the shark because of its longer jaw is if far better for getting necks and legs. It will be hard pressed to get a good hold on the Shark due to the Shark's size and Girth because the Croc's jaws are designed for clamping and holding.
A shark on the other Hand is well made to grab unto large surface areas. Basically the Shark is better designed to rip out chunks and cause more fatal wounds.
As for a Croc's senses they aren't bad but compared to a Shark's they are like being blind deaf and dumb. A shark hunts large areas of oceans where as a Croc because most of its prey is n shore it must actually go shorter distances.
Manuaverabilty I think still goes to the shark based on the fact it is faster can get the first attack in and Sharks can be quite Expolsive in force.

I think judgeing from the size of a great whites mouth and bodyat full growth he may be able to swollow a salt water croc whole. Despite the great whites lack of scales it is very durable as well. Not only that but the croc wont be able to do a death roll on it, the shark doesn'y have much to grab.
