A Delaware judge on Friday ordered Molly Shattuck, an ex-Baltimore Ravens cheerleader, to serve every other weekend in jail for the next two years.

Shattuck was facing up to 15 years in prison after she pled guilty to one count of fourth degree rape back in June. Just over a year prior, Shattuck began a physical relationship with a 15-year old boy (reportedly a classmate of her son) she met over Instagram. She was ordered to pay the victim's family $10,500 as well.

Shattuck had been facing a total of nine charges -- including two counts of third-degree rape, four counts of unlawful sexual contact in the second degree and three counts of providing alcohol to a minor -- but those charges were settled as part of her plea deal.

The third degree rape charges alone carried a potential sentence of 25 years in prison.

Under the plea agreement, Shattuck must register as a sex offender, can't contact the victim and isn't allowed to communicate with any minors, other than her own children. According to the Baltimore Sun, Shattuck must also undergo a mental health evaluation.

"I will spend the rest of my life making this right," Shattuck said. According to WBAL-TV, the victim's parents asked the judge for incarceration, saying the impact on their son has been "devastating" and called Shattuck a rapist.

I don't really understand why the US has different ages of consent throughout the various states. They range from 16-18.

But in today's society, what 16 year old doesn't have access to whatever they want through the internet? Whether it be porn to an actual sexual encounter?


I don't advocate any of it. But if the kids want it, they won't have to look hard to find it.

I don't either. Most are 16-17 and I believe one is 15 (Mississippi) unless they changed it. It serves no purpose and the age of consent laws just end up ruining peoples lives because sex offender laws are ridiculous and people get put on there for the most ridiculous reasons. Specifically men. The sex offender charge will hurt her far more than the jail time by far.

Most places in the world don't have these laws, and I don't think any do. Not to mention in most other countries and our country in the past had people dating and marrying much younger. If a 16 year old girl had to choose between a 16 year old boy or a 22 year old young man, she'd choose the 22 year old every time.

These laws seem anti-male in nature as it punishes men for doing something natural and not wrong at all. I'm sure older and less attractive women love these laws though.

Not to mention an 18 year old can be gangbanged by guys twice her age on camera and that's fine, but looking at a 17 year old is disgusting? Why?

Yea, the lying is an issue. Also the treatment should be the same to both. Not sure why 18 is considered the magical number for people though. In Georgia we have an age gap provision at least, but the penalties are harsh. People mature and think differently and this law doesn't really do anything since most people aren't waiting until they're 18 to engage in sexual activity so making it a criminal act is just unnecessary.

This cheeses me off as bad as the drinking laws. You can't even buy alcohol in GA on Sundays. Why?

I meant to comment here much earlier. By the way these laws (in terms of gender... among other things) are handled, makes me wish that I was still living in Europe. This is also part of the reason I am not necessarily fond of (American) women. Shit like this is bound to happen and male individuals would practically have to fear for their lives to even interact with another (American) female.
This is a tad off topic on my part but women in Europe just seem so much more... relaxing and more enlightening to be around. Females here are way too... artificial. I wonder if that was a good choice of words... superficial might be a tad better.

This woman only gets weeks in jail for commenting the same crime that would have been the end of everything for a man. Even a less intelligent individual can see something wrong with this. They HAVE to.

Yea having sex for a man here is a huge gamble. You have to deal with the bs and the entitlement. On top of that unwanted pregnancies + child support, high std rates amongst women, false rape, and lying girls could ruin an innocent man forever at the drop of a hat. Women like to say sex is risky for them, but men are taking the risk.

It's like this in other westernized countries too, not just the US. The UK and Canada are major offenders as well.

Pretty much, or get a second phone, don't tell them your real name, use protection, and go where people don't know you. I know men like having sex and most aren't going to sit around masturbating for life. It's not realistic and it's just like telling people to be virgins if they don't plan on marrying. Just use your brains and don't spend money on these broads. Beta males get screwed over the most though.
