The only thing DBZ characters ever had were death-rays that could level whole planets. I was never sold on their physical strength.

Anime characters in general tend to focus on energy projection or some form of hax. They don't tend to be as physical unless it's their only/main attribute (Toguro).

Especially, when they try to apply power-levels to other shows that don't use them like comics.

This is part of the reason I cannot stand "VS" scenarios from series that come from a completely different universe. While there may be some interesting premises here and there, something about it just seems juvenile.

They just like to overuse scaling and ignore everything that goes against their silly logic.
