Disclaimer: Greetings all staff members and fellow posters - feel free to respond and provide additional insight on the subject at hand. Staff members if you notice anything wrong, please free remove or alter the follow material. The purpose of this thread is to showcase a scenario of why logic and reasoning would take people a long way. The thing is, having a religion cannot be condemned at all if the individual is still reasonable about it (as opposed to being an unintelligent and paranoid individual). Another issue about religion is that it tends to often be used as means of simply spreading pointless controversy or it would be some sort of get-rich-quick scheme... among many other disturbing things. I'm agnostic. For a very good reason. Events are not going to simply take place... just to take place. There would have to be a legitimate reason behind everything that happens - it would either be because of the choices individual(s) made over time or because science happened. I could easily elaborate on why religion is not really my cup of tea but this video would essentially tell most of the story. Presenting the Armoured Skeptic: "God Exists Because I Don't Understand Science" Essentially, the titular individual has to deal with some extremely religion fanatic... EDIT: Fixed a few mistakes.

Like I told C-master, people believe for whatever reason they need to. I don't really have issue with belief, but it doesn't have a place in grown up discussions [Like how to run a society.]. Because you can't solve problems with belief.

Basically it's based off of ignorance, a lack of education, and/or a need to believe in something to justify failures or get through the day. That's a lot different than thinking their might be something out there that we can't prove, because who can? Even if you could prove something existed, how on earth did people from a long time ago know everything this being wanted down to the letter. Just seems silly to me. I'd rather spend my time improving myself and solving my problems in ways that work. Entrepreneurship, science, and free markets is why we have the things we do today, not make believe.

Even if there was something out their that created our universe. It doesn't even make man made religion true.

Even if there was something out their that created our universe. It doesn't even make man made religion true. Key word: "Man Made." The thing is, these religious and/or mythological stories were written by individuals. There are a lot of cases where many ideas are extremely ludicrous or exaggerated to hilarious degrees, especially if you were to read something like the bible for example.

The fundamental types take this stuff word for word. Things like people turning into salt pillars. Even people who know it's bs still believe in it anyways.
