True, So, PS4 only. How do you feel about it? I'm not buying a console, so tough luck if it's not on PC.

I got a PC a little after the Wii. I used to game a bit on it: Mass Effect 2, Arkham Asylum, MK9, and Street Fighter 4. With the later 2 being pirated. I'm only behind on a few games. Yeah, Nintendo is my favorite company.

My laptop broke, but back in 2011 it was pretty good. I could run Arkham and Mass Effect 2 no problem.

PC is definitely cheaper. I tried to get my best friend into it, but he's very much into consoles. Between Windows 10 and PC getting more ports, consoles are worthless tbh.

If you get a gaming laptop you'll have everything in one device you can do anywhere. Even play oldschool games. I tried to get someone into it and he said he would for a long time, but he just likes simple stuff. PC has already cracked SF5 so you can play offline training mode. Sweet stuff.

Consoles is mostly hype tbh and exclusives. That's why people buy them. I wouldn't mind, but the price isn't worth it most of the time.

Seems like fighting games in general are gradually migrating towards the PS4 console and/or the PC. I'm reserving judgment for KOFXIV until I can see what's really going on here. I want to believe that SNKP were using placeholders to mask what their really doing. Because, SNKP has a tendency of being rather silent about their production process. Another habit that I notice is that... Even if SNKP did make a "bad" KOF game, they usually come back within a few months or about a year later with a much stronger KOF title. You will notice this habit with almost every other KOF game they released. When a new title shows up, they somehow end up making a stronger sequel or following game. As if they fall down... and then they get right back up again.... then they stay up for a about 2~3 years... make a new title... they fall down because of some botched ideas... then they end up making something else which usually turns out to be superior than it's last title. KOF95 --> KOF96 KOF97 --> KOF98 (which is pretty much THE KOF game). KOF99 --> KOF2000 (The latter game was rather broken but still considerably fun to play according to must people on DC and Orochinagi). KOF2001 --> KOF2002 KOFMI --> KOFMI2/MI2R KOF2002 --> KOF2002UM (give or take a couple years later. OG02 and 02UM are also considered a powerful standard on KOF). KOF03 --> KOFXI KOFXII --> KOFXIII And, now... KOFXIV... Not sure what is really going to happen this time around. I also don't think it was a good idea to showcase game play footage at this time... it looks far too... raw. And, a lot of the animation-styles are eerily similar to that of Maximum Impact, which gives me the impression that the programmers are SNKP are just using that game as a reference. This was spoken about briefly during the DC Episode 54 Podcast... Then here is something else: That's a mobile game. So SNKP clearly is capable of making something good out of KOFXIV... if they managed to pull something like this for a mobile game. Seriously. ... And... to make a slightly irrelevant comment: Mai Shiranui looks gorgeous and I cannot get enough of that thumbnail.

It's really costly in modern times to produce "bad" games and then make good games later. Games cost more and more to produce and the fans will move on. Unless they just want diehard fans to buy this game I hope they don't go that road. 98, 02, XI, and XIII were all fun with ups and downs. That mobile game looks great. Did you see Kof XIII mobile? I played it for a bit and it was surprisingly good. SNK does have potential.

Mobile game intro looks good. I'm relieved Kyo looks like Kyo. I guess it really shows the small amount of time they put into 14 so far.

dreamcancel.com/2015/10/27/kofxiv-director-yasuyuki-oda-was-previously-sf4-battle-director-and-game-designer/"KOFXIV director Yasuyuki Oda was previously SF4 battle director and game designer
To celebrate the launch of KOF98ol, the production team decided to take a tour to visit SNK Osaka Headquarters. They had a chance to sit down and briefly chat with the KOF XIV director Yasuyuki Oda. Head over to Orochinagi for a translation of the full interview. Though Oda did not reveal much in this brief interview, it is the first time we learned that Oda will be the director of KOF XIV.
According to the Moby games database, Oda spent his entire career up to this point at Capcom working on the SF4 series. He started out as a battle designer for SF4, then as a game designer for SSF4 and SFxT, and finally as director as SF4:AE.
Given his long history with the SF4 series, there will be a good chance that we might see some of the SF4 influences in KOF XIV. Let us know in the comments what you think of this."
Welp that might have killed what little hope i had for the game. I still want to try it out but its not looking very good for kof 14

"Rekka" Kyo is apparently back. Kyo's cr.B stills links into st.C... that's nice. Retained a few of his juggle combos evidently as well. I am not able to tell if this is a team-based fighting game or if this is 1v1 (Not enough game play footage to warrant any conclusions yet). Iori may end up having moves from his "Claw" interation from XIII. I'm actually starting to see quite a bit of potential from this next KOF. The only thing that SNKP would really need to do is freshen up the graphics more. There is also a side of me that hopes for Mai to look like a goddess in this game.

I can't wait to hear more of how the gameplay will be, hopefully no touch of death mechanics this time.

They need to smoothen up the animation some, it looks blocky and stiff. Better than it was at first though.
