What could this mean if it goes through?

Fantasy sports are a big deal for many people who follow the NFL, NBA, NHL and MLB, and one of the biggest players in that scene has turned their head towards the eSports community.
DraftKings is projected to payout $1 billion in 2015, and while you can't directly compare the amount of cash being tossed around for pro sports to eSports, the fact a company of this size is getting involved is interesting.
The company DraftKings are turning their heads towards the biggest fish in the pond at the moment, League of Legends, but if things go well, it wouldn't be too much of a stretch to see them expand into the FGC, which currently has a ton of growth and momentum swinging its way, especially with the upcoming release of Street Fighter 5.
SuperData has estimated that 134 million people around the world watch eSports and that the industry generates more than $600 million in annual revenue.
With that kind of viewership and money floating around, and projections all stating those figures are set to increase, it's likely not a question of if these companies will keep expanding their eSports offerings — but when.
This is a largely untested and unproven market though, while fantasy sports for things like the NFL, MLB, NHL and NBA have been around for many years and picked up huge audiences along the way.
How long it will take for these companies to truly gain a foothold in these communities remains to be seen, but if other similar markets are an indicator, there are a lot of people interested in this.
So how does this work with eSports?
You draft a team of professional gamers, and compete head to head, or in a group, against other people online for real money.
The player's performances in various categories will decide the outcomes of your matches.
In a nutshell, the person who drafts the best performing players wins.
These offerings are set to open up in October 2015, to coincide with the League of Legends World Championship.
