Time for a bit of GG Xrd Revelator catching up from Eventhubs:
Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator hits North America on June 7th, more details and screenshots of newcomer Kum Haehyun
Earlier this week, Arc System Works revealed an all new fighter set to join Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator. Kum Haehyun, a female character that pilots a cyborg, is the latest addition to the Revelator roster.
When first announced, details on the fresh fighter were scarce. Today, we have a handful of screenshots that give us a better look at the character, as well as new information about her.
Though this new character has the appearance of an old martial arts master, Kum is actually the name of the female fighter operating the exterior. The cyborg is named Jonryoku Kum, but we get to see the pilot whenever they take damage.
Kum Haehyun is not only the heart of her cyborg, but is also the head of the Kum family. According to Famitsu, her family has the ability to control the flow of energy, and they are the only people in the Guilty Gear universe that can do so.
You can check out the new Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator screenshots below.
Aksys Games has just announced via Twitter that Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator will be coming to North America on June 7th of this year.

Kum's specials have different follow ups to keep opponents guessing; here's a bunch of info on how Guilty Gear's brand new character plays
We recently discovered that there's a brand new character by the name of Kum Haehyun on the way to Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator.
Very little is known about Kum at this point, but the image below discusses a great deal about the upcoming fighter. Our own Nicholas Taylor has translated the info on the page, telling us quite a bit about Kum and the way he plays.
It appears as though a theme in Kum's move arsenal is the ability to follow up special moves with various extenders to keep the opponent guessing. Hit the jump to see what we've translated from the image.
First off, Kum is going to be a DLC character, but if you're an early buyer of Revelator you'll get a product code that lets you download him for free.
He's based heavily upon using more inputs after your special move to change it up, causing tricky situations that are difficult for the opponent to see. You can see the image with the blue bubble next to it that has three arrows. It shows the three outcomes of the same move.
The uppermost one is good for damage, the middle one becomes a good anti-air attack, and is suggested when the opponent tries to jump away from you. The opponent won't know exactly which one you're doing until it comes out.
Kum is designed to be easy to play, and his huge frame lets him hit opponents easily, as his moves have big hitboxes.
He has projectiles that can also change properties on input. You can see on the two bottom left images where he uses projectiles. One of them actually hits from behind, you can see Jack-O reeling towards him after being hit, so Kum can essentially make his fireball cross up.
Here's a direct quote from the page that discusses Kum's approach.
"Kum Haehyun is rare for a Guilty Gear character in that his combos don't have that many hits. With that said, it's not that his normals are slow or anything, but more that they are very intense - so you truly feel the "weight" of each move. That's the battle style we intended.
He has special moves that are fairly standard, but you can also change their properties with additional inputs, so he's fun to play because of his breadth of tactics. Our concept for him was 'easy to use, hard to master', and we eagerly worked to make that show, so please look forward to trying him out!"
What do you think of Kum's appearance and style at this point? Are you excited to try him out?

Raven added to Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator's cast
Guilty Gear Xrd -Revelator- has added yet another character to its roster.
The upcoming game will feature the full cast from Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- as well as classic character Johnny, Jam and Dizzy, and series newcomers Jack-O and Kum Haehyun. Now, Raven from the non-fighting game Guilty Gear 2: Overture joins this roster.
Raven is one of That Man's three servants in the story, alongside I-No and Jack-O, so it will be interesting to see what kind of tricks this character brings.

Here is a first look at Raven from Gematsu:
First look at Raven in Guilty Gear Xrd: Revelator
Famitsu has gone up with its latest online preview of Guilty Gear Xrd: Revelator, introducing newly confirmed playable character Raven.
Raven, voiced by Hiroki Yasumoto, is the right-hand man and swears absolute loyalty to “That Man,” and holds the key to the story. He has an immortal body and no life span. Although he feels almost nothing, only pain lets him taste that fresh sensation.
Raven has long-reaching attacks, meaning he specializes in fighting from the middle of the field. His biggest appeal is his “I Want It Here” special move which fills a special gauge that powers up all sorts of his attacks. During the power-up, in addition to increasing his pure offensive ability, it also changes the performance of some of his special attacks. Since receiving too much damage will naturally knock you out, managing Raven’s health is more important compared to when playing as other characters.

Here some Raven info from shoryuken:
Guilty Gear Xrd -REVELATOR-‘s Raven Gets Stronger as He Takes Damage
These days, players expect characters to get some sort of benefit from being hit, whether it’s meter to amplify their specials or unleash a super. While taking damage is rarely the best course of action in a fighting game, Guilty Gear Xrd -REVELATOR-‘s Raven welcomes the pain.
According to new details from Famitsu, the Guilty Gear 2: Overture boss is something of a masochist that gets stronger the more he’s attacked. Getting hit during a unique attack called “I Want It Here” fills up a separate gauge that powers up Raven’s attacks and, at times, changes their characteristics entirely.
Other than that, Raven specializes in long-range attacks, and focuses on controlling the match at mid-screen. More than any other fighting game character, players will need to manage Raven’s health wisely in order to get the most out of him in competition.

Here some info on Faust's Item Toss Mechanic from shoryuken:
Get a Grip on Faust’s Item Toss Mechanics in Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN-
Every character in Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- brings a host of unique abilities to the battle, but none of these abilities offer the same sort of chaos as Faust’s item toss. The right item at the right time can change the flow of a match entirely, but only if the person playing Faust knows how to take advantage of such a situation.
In the video below, Zissou picks apart every item Faust can send careening toward his opponents and how to make the most of each piece as it appears. Additionally, the tutorial provides a look at how those fighting against Faust can deal with the chaotic nature of the character, so even those who don’t often find themselves at the helm of the good doctor can make use of this information.

Heres is a tease from shoryuken:
Arc System Works Teases Guilty Gear Xrd -REVELATOR-‘s Dizzy
Dizzy is coming to Guilty Gear Xrd -REVELATOR-. You know, I know it, the entire community knows it. The franchise veteran secured her spot in the game thanks to her overwhelming popularity in Japan, but Arc System Works has seen fit to continue teasing players ahead of her eventual reveal.
Back when Raven was announced, the developers shared a brief glimpse of Dizzy’s updated design, and now we have a much better look at that silhouette courtesy of a recent update.
No other details were provided apart from Dizzy being in development but, hey, I’m sure an enterprising fan or two is already working on filling the darkness with some decent concept art of their own. Stay tuned for more details.

Here some PC info from shoryuken:
Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- Gets Even More Stylish with Heavy Shadow Mod
With a cel shaded aesthetic that perfectly mimics the look of old-school sprite-based fighters, there’s no doubt Guilty Gear Xrd is one of the best looking games out there. That said, Xrd’s arrival on PC means that anyone can add their own artistic tweaks should its style not meet their standards.
A brand new “heavy shadow” mod does just that. Developed by deltabs, the modification in question darkens shadows on the characters to a deep black, resulting in a look that draws parellels to highly stylized anime productions like Madhouse’ REDLINE or Production I.G.’s Dead Leaves.
For a glimpse of this mod in action, check out the short clips from Twitter user Duse below.

Here some footage from shoryuken:
Japanese Competitors Demonstrate Guilty Gear Xrd -REVELATOR- Newcomers
While developer demonstrations are all well and good, the best way for fighting game creators to showcase new characters is to let high-level competitors in on the fun. Fortunately, Arc System Works did just that by inviting Japanese players Ogawa, FAB, Machaboo, Mocchi, Nage, and LOX to participate in a couple of insightful Guilty Gear Xrd -REVELATOR- exhibitions.
The videos below are split; the first highlights newcomers Kum Haehyun and Raven while the second allows the players to take control of their mains. As this is the first footage we’ve seen of the new duo apart from brief glimpses in a recent trailer, these videos should be invaluable for players looking to pick one or both up when -REVELATOR- drops later this year.

Heres a video of Kum Haehyun from siliconera:
Guilty Gear Xrd: Revelator Video Gives Us A Closer Look At Kum Haehyun In Action
Arc System Works released a new video that showcases one of Guilty Gear Xrd: Revelator’s new characters in action, with a focus on Kum Haehyun and her moves.
In case you’re wondering, Kum Haehyun is actually the girl inside. She’s a descendant of “Tuners” and the head of the Kum family. The members from her family have the ability to control the flow of energy, and they’re said to be the only people in the world with this power.
“Jonryoku Kum” is the cyborg-like machine that she’s in, and it takes on the appearance of an old martial arts master. You can read some more about her in our earlier report.

Heres some GGXrd Revelator info from shoryuken:
Guilty Gear Xrd -REVELATOR- Preorder Demo Available on April 5
Fans have been eagerly awaiting news on the Guilty Gear Xrd -REVELATOR- demo, and the fine folks at Aksys Games finally obliged with the announcement that North American players who preorder the title on PlayStation 4 will be able to jump into a limited demo on April 5.
The demo will include full versions of the arcade, training, and versus modes, as well as playable versions of the returning -SIGN- cast and newcomers Johnny, Jam Kuradoberi, and Jack-O.
Please note that the demo will only be available with a full prepurchase of -REVELATOR- on PlayStation Network. Aksys has also asked that those in the community interested in streaming keep their broadcasts limited to versus and practice.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Guilty Gear Xrd -REVELATOR- Screens Highlight Cute Lobby Avatars, Downloadable Content
It’s not uncommon for Arc System Works games to take the standard lobby mode and put their own spin on it, and the upcoming Guilty Gear Xrd -REVELATOR- is no exception. While waiting on matches, players will take control of an (I guess chibi is the word?) avatar and gambol through an arcade with a fishin’ hole in the center. What a place.
The developers have made updates to other modes as well, including a virtual stick feature to assist in memorizing inputs during the learning process. By outputting a player’s directional inputs visually and then highlighting the correct motions, this tool should help new players get into the swing of things, or perhaps even give players accustomed to something like Street Fighter IV’s input shortcuts a chance to clean up their messy muscle memory.
This information was accompanied by details on early downloadable content, which includes an additional color pack containing five recolors for each character and system voice options for Slayer, Jam, and other newcomrers. Players can expect this downloadable content the same day -REVELATOR- launches in Japan, so it’s a safe bet to assume it’ll be day one for other regions as well.
To take a look at the scenic new lobby mode, as well as some of the other features, check out the gallery below.
Can I also note how cute Lobby Millia’s little hat is? It’s a cute little hat.

Here are some graphical update from shoryuken:
Check Out Guilty Gear Xrd -REVELATOR-‘s Graphical Upgrades
Aside from new characters and refined game balance, Guilty Gear Xrd -REVELATOR- is also brings a host of graphical updates to the table. The series’ switch to 3D makes this easier to do compared to its sprite-based predecessors.
It’s these changes to the game’s graphics that HurtboxTV explores in their latest video. The changes involve a lot of tweaks to the game’s lighting, including new global lighting that sees characters, projectiles, and certain moves now acting as their own independent light sources. Additionally, the game’s stages have been updated to both better show off the new lighting effects (e.g. the Central Organ Tower stage taking place at sundown) and other effects, such as fireworks.
