This annoys me. I understand why something can be removed if it's actually offensive but I'm not convinced Nintendo talked to actual Native Americans about this, with the recent Nintendo stuff either some SJW's work in their midst or we're hearing more about it because Censorship is a much bigger discussion today than it was a few years ago.

The writer was correct. These stupid people end up hurting themselves as developers go out of the box less out of a fear of offending. It's much how anti-discrimination laws don't work because people end up not hiring special interest groups to avoid lawsuits.

These things always backfire.

The thing I find most hilarious about the removal of the Native American character/outfit is that they replaced it with a Cowboy... A Cowboy. If people weren't offended before they definitely are now.

That is ironic about the cowboy but I don't like the "women can do no wrong" POV. If a person is wrong they're wrong as far as I'm concerned. This just gives women even more of a sense of entitlement and it's why we get these clowns ruining our games.

I wouldn't blame Jonathan Holmes for ruining games, he may enable the ones that are ruining games but his goal isn't to ruin games he just wants everyone to have fun like me.

I wouldn't say he white knights anyone, he just thinks women's opinions depending on the discussion are more important. I don't agree with that when you talk about video games it's a free for all on opinion and I personally think the fans opinion is more important than anyone else's opinion, depending on the game.

I wouldn't want fans influencing the story of a game, but when fans have a problem I think it's important to communicate with them. I don't like Ray William Johnson I can't stand him but he had a massive fan base. He then stopped hosting his YouTube show and it started to lose viewers, he came back and the viewers came back then he found a permanent host to replace him, at first fans were hesitant but decided they liked the new host, then the new host had to leave and they found a replacement host and people hated her. HATED her, they complained and complained and two months later RWJ's YouTube channel had dropped more than half of the views than what they were getting because RWJ pulled the whole "You only hate her because she's a woman card." (I think that happened)

So It's important to listen to the fans because if you don't listen to the fans you get a game that kills the franchise like DmC: Devil May Cry.

I think Nintendo have to be careful because they aren't in a good position and while Nintendo fans aren't kicking up too much fuss about the recent edits/censorship, if Nintendo goes too far lets say Zero Suit Samus is no longer wearing a skintight outfit then the fans will lose their shit and Nintendo will be in a bad position not just in terms of failing console and video games but now fan support. The reason the Wii U and 3DS are still kicking and breathing is because of the hardcore Nintendo fans, pissing them off will only lead to bad things.

Giving women more credit for being women *is* white knighting though. Opinions should have value based on the quality of them and not the gender of the person.

It depends you have to watch what you listen to because most people are idiots and say they want things and then don't want them. You do want to make money however so you have to balance out the rational from the irrational.

Censorship is dumb though, I'm never for that. Trying to cater to people who won't buy the product is a waste of time and that's what we keep doing.

What do you consider white knighting? Saying a woman is right because she's a woman is pretty much white knighting to me. I see it all of the time online and in real life.

Censorship is bad, why do people need to censor things up? All about fear of an opposing point of view.
