Fan Service is awesome, when used right it can add levity, titillation, humour and sexiness to a scene, when used wrong it can ruin an emotional moment or important plot point. What are you favourite and worst fan service moments? I don't have enough time to search the dark recesses of my brain for the worst so here's two of my favourite moments. Anything involving Saeko Busujima The Infamous Matrix Boobs! Awesome bullet time. I think fanservice is fine just like anything else. It comes down to the execution of it. It's mostly western culture who complains about it. That's from Queen's Blade, much of that content is NSFW though. I made a background on it as well.

No such thing as bad fanservice.

No such thing as bad fanservice. I agree, although fanservice has a much broader term like giving the fans what they want essentially. Bringing Gouken back to SF4 is fanservice because it was designed to appeal to fans of a long-term character. Same with bringing Alex and Urien back. Nothing wrong with this either. Although some could criticize the company for taking the easy way out instead of being creative.

Well, you have other types of fanservice where a popular character get's alot of screen time or he is brought back to life after death. Depending on how it's done it can be creative or uncreative. Most people use fanservice to only describe sexual titillation. Specifically, of the female variant which seems to be the case in this thread.

Yea and fanboy characters being spotlight stealers is a big example of this. Wolverine probably number one. What about Raphael getting all the screen time and beating Leonardo which he shouldn't have done realistically. All the same.

I'm of the opinion that a character can be badass and sexy at the same time. The only "bad" fanservice would be if it came from an ugly character IMO.

Same but this type of sexy wasn't in AoT before this intro. So you didn't like it because you felt the tone was bad? That was probably bad execution on their part then. Many shows have fanservice and aren't over the top about it. Daphne in Schooby Doo is an example. She's there to be eye candy but it's all G rated.

Daphne in Schooby Doo is an example. She's there to be eye candy but it's all G rated. Attack on Titan made a big point about the outfits the men wear are the same as the women. All the women are very attractive but it's not look at big breasts or skin tight pants sexy, so when Mikasa has big breasts and is showing off cleavage in the second opening it comes across as more childish then sexy if you get me? This is all because of what AoT called sexy and the opening goes in the opposite direction. I really like sexy characters that are sexy visually like Grenadier She reloads her gun with her guns. They wear the same outfits? What like bras and stuff or are they just robes? I don't find women being attractive childish, but I don't feel bad about liking attractive women. Sometimes shows have bad style though, I wouldn't consider violence or profanity to be bad in and of itself unless it was done badly. I have seen exploitation movies that sucked but use extreme content to sell (which is all exploitation films are).

I have seen exploitation movies that sucked but use extreme content to sell (which is all exploitation films are). I don't find it childish I just mean when you make Mikasa sexy by making her badass and then you just throw in bigs breasts and cleavage two things that don't fit with the character, it feels like a childish attempt at trying to make her sexy. One of my favourite characters is Yoruichi from Bleach and she's naked like 50% of the time but it doesn't come across as childish or immature because it fits the tone of the series. Revy from Black Lagoon walks around in incredibly short shorts but it fits her character and most of time when they do use her for the sexy fan service it makes sense. It's like in some of the old Tomb Raider games when the camera focuses on Lara's breasts or ass you don't really question it because it just fits in this world they've created. I can see on the cleavage if it didn't go with them being poorly executed but I don't think large breasts necessarily are. It's funny because many SJW types like Bayonetta and say that's ok because "she's supposed to be sexy". Oddly enough they complain about R. Mika still. That's to be expected from that crowd though. Lol.

Lol. I've only ever seen SJW's hate Bayonetta, Anita Sarkeesian called her a "Fighting Fuck Toy" Really, it must be the confused ones because I've seen several SJW's say her sexiness was "appropriate".

Really, it must be the confused ones because I've seen several SJW's say her sexiness was "appropriate". Wait... I know what's going on here, well one of two things are going on here. My definition of SJW is more narrow than your definition or you somehow know a group of SJW's that aren't complete idiots. A lot of women love Kill la Kill, SJW's hate it. It's pretty much the same as Bayonetta, in fact it's probably better than Bayonetta because of the themes that are present in Kill la Kill plus it got good examples of the best fan service! Nah, I think these people are just hypocrites who like certain shows and don't want to admit their double standards. It's like how people can complain about Mika but like Poison, Cammy, or just about any other female fighting game characters since they're just about all fanservice.

Some characters become more sexualized overtime. Granted, I don't want all females to do this, but design changes happen. Jill is a good example of this.

No just fighting with fanservice, more ecchi than anything. Good animation, character, and story.
For the anime just do:
Queen's Blade Season 1 Queen's Blade Season 2 Queen's Blade OVA's Queen's Blade Rebellion.
Good stuff. Action and comedy.

For the anime just do: Queen's Blade Season 1 Queen's Blade Season 2 Queen's Blade OVA's Queen's Blade Rebellion. Good stuff. Action and comedy. I'll have to import it from the US if I decide to watch. Rebellion is still on Crunchyroll. A tricky question but I need to ask because I don't want to get arrested, certain anime over here is illegal for well reason's are pretty obvious so does Queen's Blade have any underaged girls in it that aren't just sexualised it goes further or are they very young? If that's the case I can't take the risk importing. High school of the Dead is fine, Kill la Kill is fine, just some Anime will get you arrested and seeing as Queen's Blade doesn't have a distributor over here it just makes me wonder if this is one of those Anime. Obviously Rebellion is on Crunchyroll UK so that's a good sign. Haha no. I'm not sure that would ld even work the same with animated characters, and we have similar laws here and it's out. Just get the uncensored version. Otherwise it's pointless.

Queens Blade is awesome. I had no idea before that other people liked it until C-master told me a while back. Great series with a descent story.

You weren't the only fan, and I like how they made a sshow with chicks and didn't bring down the guys, they let them do their own thing. Great animation and good story too.
