I post this because this is something I've been annoyed about for years. This idea that people get together to "act different" just because it's a certain day. If you want to get gifts or hang out together. Just do it. I'm tired of people acting like this is magical and then trying to drag others into it so they don't feel bad.
What are your takes on this matter?

Yes they are overrated. More so than you believe. Suddenly when a holiday becomes a subject of matter, people seem to change in order to align themselves with whatever holiday they are trying to celebrate. Theoretically, it's harmless and it is not something condemnable. However, what bothers me is when people outright change their personality and even their general approach in life, just for the sake of "that" one holiday (i.e. Easter, Christmas, Valentine's Day, etc). It's like these Church-goers. Every Sunday, Christians go to some Church and "pretend" to act all holier than thou. As if it really matters. It CLEARLY doesn't. Because, the next day, they are still going to end up being the same shit heads as they were before and after they came that Church. The same rules apply to holidays. What's so special about this specific day that this individual has to change their entire image?

Yes because it's under false pretenses. Isn't kindness supposed to be "from the inside".
Not to mention these are the same people who go around telling people like me that "money doesn't matter" and "material things are irrelevant".
So what are people doing now? Saving their money or putting it to good use? Nope, they're out racking up lots of debt to impress other people that in many cases they don't even like. Just so they don't feel "bad" for not doing it. People are WAY too broke in America especially to be doing this. I thought kindness wasn't about buying things? Not to mention you could always get someone a gift if you wanted.

What's so special about this specific day that this individual has to change their entire image? Tell me about it. The same people you never hear from all of the sudden want to be your best friend. You get messages and phone calls you never get this time of year unless it's your birthday perhaps. It's stupid. I'd rather someone talk to me regularly and not hear from them on a holiday than just to hear from them on a holiday. Otherwise just not bother. It shows how people are mindless sheep. It shows how shallow they are. Yes because it's under false pretenses. Isn't kindness supposed to be "from the inside". Not to mention you could always get someone a gift if you wanted. It may be fake and some may be angered receiving a gift just because it had to be given but I like to think that Christmas does more good than harm. People being fake and racking up lots of debt to impress others does a lot of good? Why can't people just do these things on their own? If you have to give a gift it isn't a gift is it?

Some people's thought on this who called up to say their piece. I think people don't say this out loud because it's politically incorrect. Very interesting.

Just like the new years resolution bs. How about just try and make some sort of improvement to yourself everyday. Your attitude towards people shouldn't depend on a holiday. Do something good because you want to not because you feel you have to.

I have only listened to the first half of the first video.
All I can say that there certainly are some sick individuals. Some of the others seem to be a bit simple minded.

Some of them definitely sounded angry but they're really just being honest. Many people think those kinds of things but don't say them because they don't want to seem like a "bad person". I think being fake just because it's a certain day is just a sick, especially when people don't practice what they preach.

I don't think planning out lighting someone on fire, or simply killing someone because they are homeless is anywhere near as sick as someone overspending on a holiday. I guess that I must be in the minority, because I don't waste my day wishing ill on someone because of how they look or smell.

I guess that I must be in the minority, because I don't waste my day wishing ill on someone because of how they look or smell. I'd say those people are just trying to be shocking more than anything. Many people do resent those that are homeless and do nothing to help them but if someone mentions it they say they're "bad people". 99% of the time most people don't give a rats ass about anything other than themselves. They're just hypocrites and I always hated it when people would say "What about the xxx people?", when they did nothing themselves to help. It's not just overspending; it's the hypocrisy and the double standard. People saying money doesn't matter and then glorifying money. Then saying there's something wrong with people who don't do it themselves. Why aren't these people donating their money instead of buying so much crap if they care so much? They should do it year round. I don't waste my time with it either, but many people resent those who have more or look better than they do all of the time, but that's politically correct so it's ok. I think it's a waste of energy and I wouldn't spend it on someone who isn't bothering me. I would rather hear honesty than the usual PC crap that people spew though.

I don't mind the festivities and whatnot. But, I really wish people would stop "changing" their thought processing and personalities every time "that one day" comes. That shit is annoying as hell to me.

Yea, I mean have fun. I can understand some people have time off and can travel to see people but the fake aspect bothers me.
Look at our dear country.
