So I got into a near physical confrontation with a family member. Just goes to show why I don't bother with dumb people whether I'm related to them or not.
We were having a discussion about an assortment of things that eventually led into taxes and things like that. They were all around spouting wrong information which I was trying to explain to them but of course to no avail.
Then we got into Singapore and my mom said "It's overrated." So I asked where she got the opinion from to form it, because she only heard it from me and people are often resentful of others wanting to travel (even if they want to do so themselves).
My cousin butts in and says, "Well how would you know, you haven't been there either."
This is totally irrelevant because we're talking about business and taxes and you should always do your due diligence before you travel for things like that. You wouldn't move to North Korea and say "I want to try it first to see if I like it". That would be foolish. Of course you check before you do. I also have several acquaintances who are business owners who like China in general because of the business friendly nature.
Anyways we argue a bit because she was ignorant over several things including expatriation and the costs of having dual citizenships when living in another country as an American. I of course get annoyed when people don't know what they're talking about and pretend to do so while being loudmouthed and belittling me so I tried to correct her. Normally I wouldn't bother but it was annoying.
Then she says, "Well that would be like a person who was white writing how it is to be "black" doesn't make them black." I pointed out that she sees herself as a man and it doesn't make her a man because she decided she wants to be one. She got mad and tried to resort to violence.
Now just some backstory she is a black woman but she changed her "gender" to a man and she's lesbian. She gets angry when people call her by her "old" name, even when you've known her forever and you're used to doing it.
Now I'm not one to resort to violence over stuff like this, but I could have easily corrected her mistake if she tried to put her hands on me. Of course we separated and they tried to use the "Well you're FAMILY."
I can't stand that way of thinking. Why should I put up with some dumb ass or loser because they're related to me? That's most of my family's point of view but not mine. Many of them are of course the taking kind so it's no surprise.
Personally I don't care about a person's life decision; you can do what you want. You can't change into a man or woman at will because you say you are no more than you can be white or black just because you say you are. That's not even taking to account that life is different for people who live in the same country no different than it is for black people.
This is why I don't bother with morons and I should have just stayed doing what I was doing.
Hopefully nobody else had a crazy day like this today, lol.
