So I've had joint inflammation for two years now. It started when I was building a new desktop on Black Friday which is when I got that stupid ticket. I normally have a very strict diet but I was taking things in and out and I bought some Airheads after going off other snacks after I hadn't had any candy since like 09. Ate a lot of the snacks while working and the next day I had pain in my knee. I figured I might have just hit something and that it would go away. Nope, it was chronic and then it went to my ankle.
Over time with changes in my diet it got really bad, until last year it hurt just to walk and squat. This is when I cut gluten out, which definitely helped quite a bit but I still got some numbness and things like that.
Eventually my thumb started to hurt this year. This was after I went off of gluten and use corn replacements. I went off of corn pretty much entirely but I did eat something with some corn syrup in it and I still had pain in my thumb that particularly bothered me when I worked with it or did certain things with it.
I noticed irritation from sugars. I was eating fruits but even those are too sugary. Sugar is inflammatory, when you eat it the sugar raises your blood sugar level and insulin resulting in inflammation. I would notice I felt weird after certain foods but I hadn't pinpointed it down as I wasn't sure if it was the sugar or the corn. Hadn't heard about sugar being such a inflammation trigger.
Well a few weeks ago I bought some brown rice flour and made certain snacks with it. Had to take back the almond milk because of headaches and the chocolate chips (for cookies), now I'm removing sugar and replacing it with Stevia, which is natural and doesn't raise your blood sugar. After about a week I feel much better.
I tried some sugar yesterday just to see the effect it had and I could feel the aching coming back.
Hopefully after a month or so I'll be completely better. Being pain free is great.
