Really? Well you can always try one and send it back if you don't like it. Give it a try for sure.

Try the adapter and see if you like it then.

Nah man you gotta do it big and run lan lines thought your whole house with cat5e attached to a network switch. Go big or go home . But seriously powerline adapters seem like a good alternative if you cant have a wired network. Only issue with that is it could be worse than wireless if the electric wires in the house are of old or if you have other wiring issues.

Lol, I know you're being sarcastic. People like to say "wired or gtfo", but the problem is that isn't realistic for most people and many can't do that. Some might be living at home with their parents and might not be allowed to. In a perfect world it would be nice but this is like telling people to never eat junk food or practice abstinence. It's not something most want to do or most just won't even if it's "better". This is the best compromise for many. So I was suggesting it. Also lag isn't just because of "wireless: there are a lot of factors involved like the players ping, router distance, adapter and router quality. Playing wired doesn't guarantee a clean connection either. Many times it depends on your opponent as well. A person can play wireless and get good connections as well. I do know PS4 has a bad adapter though so console players will want to wire up, especially for fighters.

I wonder how sony messed that up or if they even care. And on the thing that can factor lag you can add Pc performance to that list. Playing against someone with a pc not up to the game specs is about as bad as it can get.

Cutting costs. I'll research x-1 to see if it's any good.

If I'm not mistaken it doesn't support 5gz or even dual band. I can check on that but if it's true...
Also are you playing fighters competitively at 60 fps? Other genres are more lag friendly.

SF4 was garbage on the PS3. Way worse than xbox and PC. I know they had a lot of issues with PS4 SF4 and they bungled it real hard. Ultra's release was a disaster on everything though. They fixed a lot of those issues.
Mortal Kombat has never had good netcode. Just god awful and an embarassment for an AAA title. It's a casual game so they know they can get away with it since people play recklessly anyways.
Anyways PS4 has a 2.4 g that doesn't support dual band or 5g. That's terrible for modern times. Xbox is a dual band 5g/2.4g so it's up to date. One of the only things they did right if you ask me from their bad launch.

Loving the bookmark function as it works well as I don't have to search for old threads. Anyways I've had SPECTACULAR results. I had good results with 5ghz as well and I got really no lag with both on my downstairs setup (my router is on the top floor of a very large house and I do much of my work downstairs). 5ghz is better because it has less interference from crap like microwaves and other appliances. This explains why in my downstairs setup was laggier later in the day than in the morning since more people were at home sharing the bandwith on 2.4 ghz. On 5ghz I've had virtually no lag in SF4 and Kof XIII even playing with other countries and I usually have weird lag ever since the Steam version came out of SF4. I had a rare drip here and there during victory poses but that's not unusual online. I can actually do Evil Ryu combos without all the damn lagging! Makes SF4 actually halfway fun. With Powerline I've had no lag either and I had a yellow bar connection on it (which is in between green and red). I could play Mortal Kombat X which is generally bad and it ran fine and is actually fun believe it or not. I hope we get a Beta for SFV soon so I can try it there. I've moved my Powerline adapters around and I am now at green bar. I get consistently fast download speeds when I had trouble with my desktop getting above 6 MB/s. I generally got 3-5 MB/s. Now I'm above 7.2 MB/s constantly. My net speed is 1Gbps, and I've never had anything close to that. If you're going to get a Powerline Adapter do the following: 1. Make sure you get a good one. I got a good top of the line one and it's well worth it because of the speed and it even uses less juice. It fits into outlets better as well. I got this one: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00QIH1OOK?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s002. Make sure you have good wiring in your house. If you have a much older house this could also be a problem. 3. Make sure you don't plug it into a power strip or "plug extension" (one of the multiple plug ports that let you plug in a ton of items into an outlet). This will affect the results as you get more interference. That should be it. Have fun! My test results are: Ping: 9ms Download: 65.53 Mbps Upload: 4.31 Mbps
