How to Make the Supergirl and The Flash Crossover Work
Because Supergirl comes from the same creative team as The Flash and Arrow, there has been speculation that the shows could crossover since the CBS superhero drama's announcement, but nothing was confirmed until now. CBS did not release official details about the episode or how the crossover will happen, but The Flash and Supergirl executive producers Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg released a statement sharing how excited they are simply that it is happening.
"We are so incredibly excited to announce something that we have dreamed of happening since we starting making Supergirl -- The Flash and Supergirl are teaming up!" the statement reads. "We want to thank Grant Gustin for making the time to come visit (on top of his already immense workload) and all of the folks at CBS, The CW, Warner Bros. and DC for working this out. And finally thanks to the fans and journalists who have kept asking for this to happen. It is our pleasure and hope to create an episode worthy of everyone's enthusiasm and support."

This will be the first time Supergirl connects with The CW's superhero TV shows. The Flash and Arrow regularly cross over, and both series set up the debut of DC's Legends of Tomorrow.
At the recent winter Television Critics Association press tour, the heads of both CBS and The CW teased that a crossover could happen if logistics could be worked out. The Flash shoots in Vancouver, BC and Supergirl shoots in Los Angeles. Fans already got a sneak peek of what a crossover could look like when Berlanti, Gustin and Supergirl's Melissa Benoist posed on the cover of a May 2015 issue of Variety.

In upcoming episodes, Supergirl will tackle an adaptation of Alan Moore's "For the Man Who Has Everything," while The Flash will take a two-part trip to Earth 2. Supergirl airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CBS, while The Flash airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on The CW.
