Is Male Space An Endangered Concept?

We've talked about censorship in gaming a lot recently and how it affects another hobby that was once dominated by men (gaming) becoming more politically correct and catered to a "broader audience". That of course means females and people who don't largely play games.

Is male space an endangered concept? In the past men had barber shops, steak houses, sports arenas, gaming, comics, and a lot of other things they did where they could just be guys but many of these places have been co-opted and catered more and more to women to where they just aren't the same.

What are your thoughts on this?

I'm gonna comment on gaming, since that's the male space I'm more familiar with it. I think it has alot to do with how slobbish and dumbed down some of these spaces are. If you look at PC gaming we don't see that kind of invasion, because unlike Consoles we have a higher bar to entry. That's why "Gamer gurls" aren't in PC fandom as much.

Basically, PC doesn't have it because the entry is higher. I don't think it's the slobby behavior or anything though. Things that require a lot of math or thinking or lots of physical ability or danger don't have women in them either. Outdoors work and engineering are such examples.

What is going on within barber shops, steak houses, or sports on the whole male space just wondering? I know where gaming has been going and saw a video from mundanematt that was talking about "Marvel goes full SJW with ANGELA: QUEEN OF HEL #4" which they would definitely not be safe under their hands or are the kind of people that worth completely ignoring.

Part of the problem is that companies wants to bring in a variety of people ranging from men, women, longtime fans, newcomers, hardcore players, & casual players just so they can increase their profits (which would secure future installments) and expand the community (even if they wind up bringing stupid people in) which depending on what they're doing and how their doing it could make the title huge success or complete failure that ruins the title/company itself.

As far as male space goes, what if females actually would love this stuff too or wouldn't mind being part of in their activities? Maybe as long as these politically correct or "feminist" fanatics aren't causing problems to effects a person/companies decision (which they will if they listen to them), making a big deal that isn't even worth their time should go else where if they don't like this kind of stuff to begin with, or shoving their ideologues down everyones throat then it wouldn't be a problem.

They've been vaginized and catered to women and to some extension children. Women in most cases don't enjoy these activities and often just hate men having their own things. Women have plenty of things catered and aimed at them and men don't interfere with it. Shopping malls, yoga, romance novels. Men don't complain. Anything men enjoy is seen as sexist and wrong.


I think it's two-fold. Companies want to make profits and they think catering to women will do it, the problem is they start turning off the main base to cater to people who will never buy the products (with exceptions).

A lot of it has to do with political correctness, which is prevalent in western society. This idea that everything needs to be "all inclusive" when men enjoy it is just absurd. Women's activities don't aim to be all inclusive to men and nobody complains about it or forces them to do so.

I have no problem with women enjoying stuff, but there's really no places where men can go to be men and not have to worry about being offensive to women and some other group. I can't open a special bar or club or something similar here in America, as it would be illegal to make it men only. A business owner should be able to make their stores aimed at whomever they want. Men, women, smokers, gays, etc. It just shows how far our society has fallen really.

Men need more higher bar of entry hobbies like: Chess, PC Tech, and Engineering. These hobbies keep poseurs out in general, because of the higher bar of entry.

That's another thing. Not only is it not vaginized, but they also keep the idiots out. The thing is those are mental activities and not all men are mentally inclined.

For that you could do blacksmithing, welding, hunting, martial arts, lumber jacking, building, repair, etc.

Something for everyone. Productive activities are the best. Whenever I get into a game I always love the feel of going back and creating stuff. I've taken a big break again for a bit until we get some updates on this mess of a game.

That's why I try to tie things into productive activity that I can do reasonably and enjoy doing vs consumption based activities. I like business of course and reading up on things like that but I also like designing things, if I put those together and work on web design and I make money off of some websites for instance it's a win/win. Then I have more free time to do what I want on top of that. Some things like cooking and exercising I think are pretty much essential with all of the processed stuff you find in stores nowadays.

Claiming that Surfer and Thanos did it before. When in reality Surfer and Thanos working together coudn't dent Odin. Claiming she didn't beat him, so, it's okay for her to go back and forth with Odin even when he's vastly more powerful than her.

This whole run has been bullshit. First we have Thor claiming she can use Mjolnir better than he can, then she fights head to head with the Destroyer [granted she wasn't winning] and now we have this. I'm done with Comics. The SJW has overrun our media. Going back to anime where i belong.
