Making a thread based on this game with all related gameplay elements and things of that nature designed to go here.
First I do have a question. How long does the typical match last? 10 minutes? 15? 30? Just getting an idea.

So far I'm liking Phara (jetpack girl with rocket launcher), Mei (ice girl), Widowmaker (she needs some work on my end), Reinhart (probably my favorite), and I like Lucio but I messed around with Mercy a bit.
Many of the problems with quick matches is that you end up on a team with people who just want to get kills instead of completing the objective which is very annoying. Still a blast to play though.

About the average match time i say abotu 10-20 mins but that depends if both teams are playing the objectives. Its probably around 5 mins if the attackers on payload or control points have bad team composition and not pushing the objective. Yea at c-master playing objective based games with randoms can be a bad experience but the game is still fun. Luckily adding people who you see playing good is easy in the game so you can build up a list of players who play the objective. I'll probably figure this out before you reply but how do you add people? New to the Blizzard/Game interface. Just in case I hit the road or something.
I am improving and winning more, but yea the early matches were fast as people just went in for kills and got picked off.
Starting to learn some different strats too. I went to the practice range with every character to at least get a basic idea of their abilities.

People are asking me about whether or not I recommend this game to others. After SF5 turned out to be a disaster in many ways (the game is fun gameplay wise, but is riddled with other issues) this game sparked my interest since I've actually seen stuff about it before and WarMachineRhodey started posting about it and it reminded me of Timesplitters of sorts but with a modern "hero" element you see in current games.
I went to try it out and with it being only $40 on PC I figured why not. Nowadays you can digitally download games, even Blizzard games, so I took the plunge. I did the tutorial and it was simple to get into and it was fun to look at. The game also has very low requirements as well so you can run it off of almost anything PC wise that isn't a failed toaster. I did some keyboard and mouse mapping to prepare for later.
When I got on I tried Reaper since I like those kind of characters and I did some practice against the AI bots. After clearing through that simply I tried online. This game definitely emphasizes team play instead of just rushing in. I tried this at first (largely due to not being experienced in the maps) and it didn't work. Once I got used to being more patient and I picked my roles better, I succeeded much more. I definitely enjoyed playing Reinhart. I would clear out many mission objectives myself with him. I'm currently working on mastering Widowmaker as a good one is very strong.
Long story short I definitely recommend it as it is easy to get into, fun, and not demanding on your time. It's the perfect game to pick up and play and the matches are the right length to get your fix and do something else. Once you improve it will get better as you add people and you can do ranked matches when they implement that.
Get the game, it's quite fun!

To add people in game you press P to bring up the communication menu then go to recent players and add the person you want from there.

Yea, I've been using recent players. I tried to add the ID but it was too much hassle since you need the game tag too.

* After further research the game has raw input natively but ill leave the post unedited since it applies to other fps games also
Oh here is another tip. You might want to turn off mouse acceleration in windows settings unless your mouse has some sort of software that allows you to do it from there. Mouse accelerations makes the mouse act like an analog stick which is ok for regular use but horrible when playing a game that requires precision aim.
With mouse acceleration, the movement is based on speed. Meaning, if you move the mouse 1 inch, slowly, it'll move one distance. If you move it still 1 inch, but fast, it'll move a lot farther. Turning it off will give the mouse and cursor will move at 1:1 ratio no matter how fast you move the mouse.
I have a logitech g402 and i can set it to custom settings for any game that a launch so i dont have to worry about toggling stuff for every game.

I know people have been adjusting the sensitivity themselves, especially when it comes to sniping with Widowmaker so it will feel natural. I think the 1:1 ratio was exactly what they were talking about so I will check that out.

What makes it sad is that the PC requirements are stupid low. You could run this on my business/art laptop.
They tried to be disingenuous by comparing them with the settings all the way down on the PC. Might as well not bother or compare them to X-Box.

This is my first shooter and I'd have to say its very fun. I've played cod/halo before but having different characters/abilities & pros/cons real upped my enjoyment of the genre.

Nice I never tried widowmaker or reinhardt yet. I've been play Dva, Soldier, Reaper, and McCree. Started out only Dva but my friend said to play 1 of the other 3 first to learn the game. Ended up liking all 3 lol Only characters I'm probably not gonna play at all is Tracer and Mei

I was going to use Mei but I really wanted to snipe because I like high execution stuff and I like the character design. I might pick a longer ranged hero to go along with Reaper. McRee is just such a pain to deal with and does crazy damage. He's like Reaper with more range. Dva is a fun design. It's cool watching people chuck the bot at you by leaping up lol.

Dva is also crazy good. Her defense matrix can nullify everything and when she dies she can return to the fight very fast! McCree is pretty tough for me to use even though he seems so basic :/

I'm in love with Soldier 76. He's so versatile and can get back in the fight fast while helping the team well.
Do you play on console or PC?

Lol why did you do that? I'm not used to Blizzard either, I'm used to Steam. I 'm catching on though. I'll add you the next time I'm on. Do you guys have any legendary skins yet?

Not sure why I did it but I like it now. I got reapers plague doctor. I hardly get any skins.....it's gonna take forever to collect them all. I wonder if paid loot boxes are better than the ones from leveling up. Its funny they sell loot boxes for cash instead of just selling skins.

I bought a 50 loot box just for kicks. I got like 6-7 legendaries including one for Soldier 76 and Mercy but none for Widowmaker or Reinhart. I bought those with the extra currency you get from duplicates.
