Or AIDS? CAIDS? Ancer?
Crude humor aside it just doesn't feel the same to me. I took a break from gaming for quite some time back in 2008-2011 with no real time gaming. I spent my time doing other more productive things. I still do productive things now, but it just feels like the gaming aspect is really time consuming and toxic.
When I started gaming again it was because I had a PSP which I bought that was modded for old school games (I bought two for $90 on sale), I started playing classics that I had grown up with like TMNT and Sonic and Knuckles 3 that was pretty cool since I could do all of it on the go. I then got back in later that year and spent quite a bit of money on a console, sticks, controllers, and games.
I of course like to improve at stuff and spent my time "gitting gud" and I liked the challenge of doing something new and pushing myself. I just hated the feeling of the time drain and the awful communities you see nowadays. (People whining for nerfs constantly, pseudo elitism, SJW crap, general company idiocy, and half finished nonsense). This was not the gaming I remembered when I was younger. I gamed more when I was a kid (like most of us) but it was nice that I could just jump on, play a few stages, and then jump off. Now it seems that modern games are padded with filler and cinematics while not offering much of anything else. This was also what made me stop gaming before. Back in 08 I was just kind of burned out on gaming and I just stopped. I didn't miss it either.
It just seems like with games nowadays they take up more time but offer a lot less back than they used to. They just seem to milk your time and money at this point.
Is it just me or do people see where I'm coming from?
