I played a little bit of Chess but not much. My dad was like state level at it.

Nothing really special but I'm done playing video games. It is too much of a net drain on my life and right now other things are more important to me. I just don't have the time to sit and stare at a screen when I could be doing something better.

Been studying for the past few days and haven't touched a video game since. It's not so much I'm avoiding them, but I just don't want to waste an hour to do so. I'm becoming more aware of my time and how I use or misuse it.

I had been jumping on and gaming somewhat after the update to SFV just to try it out and I can feel that feeling of irritation, annoyance, and time drain that I was feeling before. These games basically simulate a feeling of accomplishment that isn't there and it makes people complacent. It truly gets in the way of being the best person you could be.
Time I could spend making experiences in real life and networking or doing something similar would be wasted on that. If I'm going to travel to see new people and do new things, I should aim to get out and see and do new things and meet new people where I'm at first. Not generic moron activities but just getting involved with volunteering or something similar.

Yeah, that's why I went full casual. When I game I usually do it with my friends no dumb communities and even then it's in-between doing other things. Though, I would like to see gaming events like tourneys seeing how I never been to one. But, nothing hardcore.

When you get more competitive it's more draining but I find it to just drain a lot regardless. Win or lose. Just feelz like I could do more.

If you feel it's cutting into your time then cut it for sure.

If you feel it's cutting into your time then cut it for sure. A lot of it is the mental impact it has on you. I think it causes irritability and complacency in general with people. This social media modern craze has made people socially retarded lol.

This social media modern craze has made people socially retarded lol. For me it depends. If I have to commit and put alot of time into a game then I'll most likely not play it or just beat over an extended period of time. It's why I went casual, I don't like hard games because they require too much investment.

I think more competitive games require that to "get good" but you can play fighting games casually too. Do single player or just play with friends for fun. I just find that the sense of accomplishment there is more "fake" than through other means if that makes sense.
