Resident Evil: Vendetta CGI Movie Announced, Premieres Spring 2017 in Japan Capcom has announced (via 4Gamer) a new CGI movie based on the Resident Evil franchise. The new film is dubbed simply Resident Evil: Vendetta, and its coming to Japan sometime next spring. Details are somewhat scant, however we know the movie will feature an entirely original storyline. According to producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi, however, the story will be similar to the original Resident Evil – hence the mansion in the background. It’s also clear that somehow both Leon S. Kennedy and Chris Redfield will be involved. The movie will have The Grudge creator Takashi Shimizu on board as executive producer, and it will be directed by Takanori Tsujimoto. Source: nichegamer

Hopefully they do a good job. I happen to like the animated works of Capcom... usually.

Debut Trailer for Resident Evil: Vendetta Film
Capcom has shown off the debut trailer for their recently announced film based on Resident Evil, Resident Evil: Vendetta.
Featured above, the first trailer shows off Chris Redfield, Leon S. Kennedy, as well as new characters to boot in what Capcom and production studio Marza Animation Planet are poising as a return to the series’ roots.
It’s clear the publisher is trying to bring their core fans back, while including iconic locations such as a dilapidated mansion, as well as fan-favorites Chris and Leon (however their models do look a bit different).
Resident Evil: Vendetta is set for a worldwide release sometime next year.
