The state standardized tests for school have killed all creativity in teaching and learning. Its no longer about showing kids to think about new ideas and to encourage critical thinking but instead parroting back information that is given to them. Teachers have to teach to the test in order to keep school funding from the government and to keep their jobs but some kids who are even A students will still fail simply because they are not good test takers.

It's basically government brainwashing and government jobs for the non productive. I've even discussed this with my aunt who is a teacher and she agreed the quality was bad but still wanted for bad teachers to keep their jobs because "they needed them".

This is why the government shouldn't get involved i things like this. The good news is that information is cheap and widely available and there's no need to get into debt to learn.
