Definitely do, Diskotek releases and updates out of print Anime dvd's. I'm a big fan of these sorta things and I plan on making more anime dvd and bluray threads.

I think it's better that way. I mean most anime fans are into simulcast and watching the massive loads of shows that premiere each season. Which is not bad. But, personally, that's way too much anime for me to deal with. I don't have the time nor the patience to wade through all that crap before I find something to watch. With DVD releases the output is far less, so, there's less crap to wade through since most of the "good" shows have already made first pick by licencors. Not to mention the bandwagons have long moved on to the next flavor of the month. So, you don't have to deal with that nonsense as well.

Quality vs quantity for me. I don't go through the mainstream anyways. All forms of entertainment have their crap.

Ahh this brings back memories. I remember watching the entire movie which was within the options menu in Hyper Street Fighter II twice once from at home and second time for My dad to watch something. This would be something I would want to get.

Well, that's always the case. What I mean is with anime you got a lot of different type of shows in the mainstream. I think we discussed before, but American entertainment is always the same characters: Batman, Wolverine, Star Wars. While anime tends to be something new very generation. So, you might have to dig more not because there are more bad shows but more variety and you gotta find what you like rather than always relying on the "tried and true" if you get me. Pretty sure we discussed this before tho.

That doesn't mean the writing is good. The same characters can get old as well. Bad writing is bad writing. For instance you don't like the Flash this season and it's a star character. I don't really care what's in the mainstream in regards to quality. I think most stuff is formulaic by definition. This isn't an anime problem. Cliche is cliche for a reason.

Well, for me personally I don't feel I have to wade as much with American mainstream shows. It's easier for me to find what I want and since we watch a lot of the same shows I figured it was the same for you too. I have a much harder time with anime in that regard, I assume it's because anime is from another culture and it's made for a different foreign audience. Not because it's cliche.

There's more anime but that doesn't mean more of it is bad. Bad American shows just go on. Look at what the Simpsons have become.

Oh definitely, I just need to get better at finding stuff. With Manga it's even harder because so much of it is untranslated, but a lot of them look so damn good lol. Simpsons is unwatchable now lol.

For me I just try to read about a show or watch an episode or two of it. If I like what I see I just go from there.
