So, I played GOW Ascension for the first time. Back when GOW was coming out I wasn't gaming and never had a chance to play it. Now after indulging in it, I'm glad I didn't waste my time. This game is trash and infuriatingly so. Where do I start, the defense is crap in this game. Kratos only has two defensive tools: A roll and A parry. The roll is lame, it has no start up animation but for some reason when Kratos uses it he's frozen for half a second on the recovery. I can't even use it to fast travel when platforming because it's recovery is so bad. In battle, it moves you too far out of range and alot of times offscreen which sucks because the enemies in this game are so unbalanced. They have no hurt animation, you can't interrupt their animations in their moves, they have retarded range and the tracking is so tight that they never miss. Plus some have shockwaves. The parry which is performed by holding block and pressing x is trash because all it does is stun the enemies, assuming it even hits since kratos tracks so badly. It doesn't build rage meter either. The only option you have is to mash until your enemy is dead. It's so stupid. Kratos is slow and his aerial attacks barely get him out of range of his enemies attacks. The enemies might as well be aim bots since their attacks never miss.

Great presentation and cinematics with highly homogenized and simplified gameplay. It's basically a movie with button mashing lol.
