Dragon Ball Fighters announced for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC - it's 2.5D and developed by Arc System Works Bandai Namco has announced a new 2.5D fighting game called Dragon Ball Fighters. Developed by Arc System Works, we'll be seeing this title released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC worldwide in early 2018. Gematsu reports that the game will be a 3v3-based fighter that allows players to "determine the compatibility between characters and form a team of fighters." The game will feature “ultra high speed battles” and “flashy special moves," much like you'd see in the actual cartoon show. Deviating from the long line of 3D Dragon Ball fighting titles, Dragon Ball Fighters will be 2.5 -- which means battles will be fought on a 2D plane, but with 3D character models. As of right now, only two images of the game have been shown. In them, we see Super Saiyan Goku, Vegeta, Freiza, Perfect Cell, and Majin Buu, which tells us that the game will definitely be taking some of its roster from the Dragon Ball Z story arc. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dragon Ball FighterZ will be playable at Evo 2017, with its own side tournaments! Broly and Bardock first two DLC characters coming to Dragon Ball FighterZ We've caught first wind of DLC content for Dragon Ball FighterZ thanks to Siliconera, as two names that have been tossed around quite a lot in recent weeks, Broly and Bardock, have been revealed. This comes as news from Japanese site Ryokutya2089, though further information including pricing and time of release for the two Saiyans are still up in the air. In the Dragon Ball series, Broly stands a head above most as a nine foot tall Legendary Saiyan. His personality tends to shift between docile and rage-filled at the drop of a hat. A fan favorite powerhouse villain, Broly is extremely powerful and hates Goku because of protagonists incessant crying when the two of them were infants. Despite having a stature similar to fighting game characters like Zangief, Broly will be a "traditional powerhouse character with a large body and long reach," as opposed to a grappler. Bardock is a lower ranking Saiyan and the father of Goku. His physical appearance is virtually identical to his son's, save for his usual Saiyan armor outfit. Broly's level three Super is titled "Gigantic Meteor" while Bardock's, titled "Revenger Assault," sees him go Super Saiyan for a flurry of attacks on foes. Here's the V-Jump magazine scan from Shonengames confirming the two new fighters: Source: eventhubs

Now that the hype has died down a bit it seems this is a popular game. Some say many of the characters play the same though.

Bardock and Broly now available for Dragon Ball FighterZ The first two DLC characters for Dragon Ball FighterZ have been released. The father of Goku, Bardock, and the legendary Super Saiyan, Broly, can now be taken into any of the game's modes. Owners of the DLC Season Pass #1 should already be able to play as the two fighters without any additional cost. This DLC pass costs $34.99. There will be a total of eight characters that will become available via this season pass. More than likely, we'll see them release two combatants at a time. If you want to purchase Bardock and/or Broly individually, they'll cost $5 each. Obviously this means that getting the season pass is the less expensive option. www.eventhubs.com/imagegallery/2018/mar/28/broly-and-bardock-screenshots-dragon-ball-fighterz/1/Source: eventhubs
